2012 Staff Challenge!!

Ok folks! It's time again to start a new staff challenge! This year will see a few changes that will put a significant wrinkle in your plans!

So, first the basic points from last year see some updates. The 15mm category is getting significantly reduced in points. This year I'm putting ALL 15mm models at a single point. Well, unless it is SIGNIFICANTLY larger than a normal 28mm foot trooper. I liked pork's method of showing his Spartan games models with the headless marine. Basically I just eyeballed how big the model was in relation to the marine and scored it accordingly. If you want to get more than 1pt. for for your models that AREN'T 28~32mm scale, please post a picture alongside a marine. (I think we all have a spare marine lying around. If not, you can sub another basic trooper.) I realize this biased against non-28~32mm figs. and requires more work, but I'll be doing it as well for some Heavy Gear models I'll be painting.

So anyways, here's the point breakdown.

Regular infantry, all 6mm models, all 15mm models = 1pt.
Ogres, Ogrun, Trolls, Light Warjacks = 2pts.
Cavalry, Bikers = 3pts
Heavy Warjacks, Smallish Vehicles, Chariots = 5pts.
Large Vehicles and Monsters (Land Raiders, Valkyries, Trygon, WM War Engines, Manticores, Hellpit Abominations, Dragons, etc...) = 8pts.
Really HUGE Stuff (Titan, Stompa, Baneblade, etc...) = case by case

RESOLUTION BONUS!!

This year is seeing the addition of a resolution incentive. The way this is going to work is that you can select up to *FOUR* armies. This is NOT mandatory. It's just a way to earn some bonus points while playing with the idea of New Year's Resolutions. The rules are as follows.

Rules:

1.An army must contain AT LEAST FIVE MODELS!
2.The armies have to be composed entirely of unpainted models as of January 1st, 2012. (unpainted models means assembled and primed AT MOST, no base coating.)
3. By the end of January 2012 you MUST submit army lists for every army to be entered into the resolution challenge.
4. Army lists CANNOT be changed mid-challenge! (This means both the overall army list AND the contents of each army list. No waffling!)
5. Army lists DO NOT have to be legal for the game they are from. While the models have to be allowed for the army you are entering, (no Chaos Warriors in your High Elf army,) you can take extra models or less models than would normally be allowed. (ie. You can paint 4 heavy choices for your Imperial Guard army as long as they are all Imperial Guard legal minis.) The intent is that you are putting forth a list of figures to paint and not play so as long as they belong to a single army that counts as an "army list" as far as this resolution is concerned.

Now, the bonus for participating in the resolution challenge portion of this year's painting challenge is that for EVERY FIVE MODELS IN THE LIST you will get ONE bonus point towards your challenge total for completing them. HOWEVER, you only get those bonus points once EVERY MODEL in the challenge list is completed! For example, if you pledge to complete a 5 model army for a skirmish level game you would get one bonus point once those 5 models were completed. On the other hand, if you pledged to paint a 100 model Imperial Guard army you would be in line for 20 bonus points, but only once every one of those 100 models was fully painted.
