528 pages.
But whats in it? Updates to all the armies OR a bunch of crappy pictures & background rehashed from older books.

From what I understand, lots of fluff and 12 historical missions. Oh, and a hefty $90 price tag.
Go on, laugh! But one day, you'll be sitting in your house feeling all safe and secure... Then you'll look over and I'll be there... Doin'... stuff!

Some of the accessories look like they might be fun to get and use for 40K.
Would like the template/blast marker set, if it scales over properly.

I'm worried about this price tag. I hope it's not some sort of test to see if they can do that same kind of thing with 40K.

I swear... $90 for a rulebook MIGHT just be enough to keep me away from any new versions of the game.

BLEH!

That was a missed chance to balance out all the army books at once.

$90 !!!

Whats the box set gonna be? It has High Elves & Skaven in it, along with a mini-rulebook- like the Skull Pass set.

528 pages is enough for them to fit in the rules, some fluff, the missions, some army lists, a small novel, a complete and unabridged history of Games Workshop, the family tree of the royal family, sample pages from the catalog, a few dozen ads for White Dwarf, some more fluff, a couple more ads, a short, 12-page essay on why you should "hobby", and several extra pages for notes in the back.

Same here. $90 for a rule book that will be outdated in 3-5 years is not something I'm willing to shell out for.

It's $75, Unless you get the Collectors' Edition book @ $123.75.

The part in my hand is the rules, rest of the isn't needed IMO. Outside of a small section on scenarios. Very interested in playing now though.

I'm waiting until the mini book comes out in the box set a few months after. I can live without 400 pages of fluff and "amazing color photos!".

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if the suits at GW wised up and put only a "mini" rules book in the box set, a "to get you started" edited version, and left out the "advanced" rules and most of the scenarios. That'd be one way to get suckers to buy the new $74.25 rule book. Blech, ptooey! Hope they aren't that smart.

At least, if it's $75, there are places where you can get it for a somewhat reasonable price (If you can find a 30% off retailer, it'll be $52.50. It's $60 @ 20% off).

I would like to tell you that I'm certain MiniatureMarket will have it.
Wargamer's Cave might get it, as well (PM him to find out).

Also, both of the above are BARTERTOWN ADVERTISERS, so I'd encourage you to purchase your copy from one of these great establishments that help keep Bartertown free for your use.

FWIW, MiniatureMarket is my "Local" game store. I've never been to their warehouse (of course), but I've visited their retail store regularly. Great bunch of guys.

Also,WargamersCaveRay (formerly IceworldRay) is semi-local to me (maybe a couple hours[?] drive over the river & into Illinois from my home).

Hope that helps!
