You have to have a HQ slot filled anyways, so why not take Astorath? As for the BA Assault squad; for 20 points more, you're getting a scoring assault squad that can take up to three meltas (or flamers), and has a fast transport to get them across the board. I could easily fit Astorath, 5 Assault Squads, and 2 Furisos in drop pods into a 1500 list.

Are u maxing ur squad size out? That isvthe only way to take 3meltas (with the pistol) and I'm assuming the lander.

*Without checking points fully* and aproximatimg the points ur list come out to closer to 2k

hq is aprox 200
each assault squad with lander is aprox 350x 5= 1750
and 2x drop pod furiosos is roughly 350pts (170ish ea)

so I think at 2250 many a army can deal with it.

There are a lot of good options ...not Fing awsome.
This is gws new MO so that they can sell models and get people playing with more then the 2lists pr watever old codex's could make but instead allow players to do many many more. Which is a good thing!

With the new codex's from 5th coming out many people will find them op (including myself) because the majority is still in the old ed style codex. Once the majority is new style then things like the lander is less op and more buisness as usual.

I'm talking of putting the 10-man Assault squads in Rhinos. Drop the packs for a free Rhino that has overcharged engines. 3 squads maxed out with meltas and 2 with flamers.

Yep at that way it's doable (sorry thought u had ment the other fast transport)

I think that's close to what I said I liked in it earlier... tho this would be a list that having 1or 2 of those landers that would be decent (just for the dakka dakkaness of it)

I think there will be a couple serrious armies: drop poding dreds as one, assault rhino rush, and some army that is like a bunch of st sheild termies in landers (idea would be a brick in-ur-face list) to counterassault and put stuff the enemy HAS to deal with along with tact squads in 'backs and dakka preds to out shoot everyone.

Hate to say it but the rumormongers over on Dakka claim that the leaked PDF is a hoax/fan project.. so don't be thinking this is gospel.

Just to let folks know, the owner of my LGS told me that GW actually emailed retailers to alert them of the leak. They did this to let them know that because of the leak, sales of the new codex may be lower as a result.

Though I believe that the actual codex will vary slightly, but that's just my opinion.

There has been an 'update' and there is now the bat unit which costs 666points for 10x jetbike thunderhammers... And alot of seriously anti GW rules... One is 'show off" were if u are playing against night loards u just roll of and the winner bass the biggest 'p****' and auto wins the game. Or if u are playing "against sister with rage...nevermind" <-that's how it written!

Also if they start within 12 inches (or 36 of any ork) of anything u consider noisy (vehies, termies, ect) they auto die.


Anyway so unless this is just ment to get people to think it's a fake codex I'm guessing that it is just a hoax-a-dex... A very good one but still...

Oh and the bats get deployed by: on turn two if they come from reserve they destoy and take the place of a enemy unit.

They can take fluffy animals which are thunderwolfs along with them.

They can take 'math hammers' which auto hit and kill whatever u attack

u can upgrade the sargen to some guy that u both auto loose the game and you have to feel really bad after the game for deciding to play with him (I think it's a jab at a freind or something)

And they can take the batmobile as a dedicated transport



Oh well but again it mightjust be a fake unit Ina real 'dex.
