I have contacted Paypal and the have given me a few websites in which to visit

http://www.econsumer.gov - This is a international fraud site. This site will help paypal actually take action on the_trader legally and sieze his and possibly his mother's accounts, through collection agencys.
ic3.gov this is a US website and probably will not do much for us but he incouraged me top post a claim here as well.

I have had difficulty tracking down his phone number. He must be new at his address. However If my cold calls to the UK do not prove to be fruitful today I do have the option of payiing 10 pounds and getting the information. I know it's there from the report generated from the tracking site, but I will not show me the phone number unless I pay.

There are quite a few Bartles close to the address he provided. I am sure one will know who he is or is related. (Maybe I can get ahold of some grand parents before christmas.)

If you havent already escalate your paypal dispute to a claim. It is first come first serve with Paypal. It is not divided amoungst us all equally. If you put in a dispute it should have frozen the cash in his account. There is no way to expidite this you must wait your 15 days for dispute resolution.

No progress yet. I made about 20 calls this morning. Got about 6 home. No relations or anyone that knew Joesph Bartle. One lady said there was no Joesph Bartle. (Interesting) Another lady said there was 3 Bartle families and they didn't mix much. I will try again after lunch which should be after 5pm there. So I should get more success.

Also I notice one thread with someone pointing out possible church and school. I wouldnt mind getting ahold of that church's name, and give them a call. This is proving to be a little more difficult than I thought it would be. Bartle must be a more common name in England, but 3 families isnt that bad it shouldn't be much longer before I narrow down a relative, and get a link to him. If all else fails I will just call his local police station and they should help out. With a theft of over a 1000 dollars he would possiblably get a few years. I talked to my cousin which is RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) in the computer crimes division (convenient... I know), and he said he would step in if I didnt have any success.

Actually I am forgetting how international BTown is. Anyone from England out there? Can you call directory assistance and get a number for Joesph Bartle from the phonebook. His address is above and he is not on any of the international directories. His mother's name is possibly Lisa or Elizabeth. I am not complaining but this is taking alot of time and it is costing me money for every answering machine I get, and if someone could just look up his number in the book in 5 seconds it would save me alot of agrevation.

I volunteer to make first contact with his mother or him. I would like to keep this professional and business like. Then if no progress is made bring in legal aid. I am not going to let this just fade away and cut my losses.

According to the UK Electorial Roles, at that address lives two folks named Bartle, a Lynda P. Bartle (mid 50's age range) and a Richard M. Bartle (source: http://www.192.com)

I got the electoral roll from England and they are not on it. So either they dont vote, or it is a fake address, or they have thier mail forwarded? I am thinking it is that they just dont vote. Single mother's generally do not vote. (I know its a stereotype, and apologise to any single mother's that vote, and that are offended.)

Yes I found that one on 118.com as well I didnt call it yet because the postal code signifiys that it is quite far away from Raglan St.

However that Electoral Roll info helps alot... I didnt find that info when I looked on 192.com. I will seen what I can do with that info. What did you search to get that info on Richard Bartle at the 31 Raglan address?

I started looking at birth records to try and confirm that Joesph isnt using a alias... Not much success yet.

Finally you seem to be getting close. Just for posterity sake he also attempted to fraud me for the little sum of $15 for some Arbites back in november. I didn't pay him in advance so I am not out anything but it was my Post in the backout forum that kicked off the_trader love fest. I am eagerly watching the forums waiting to hear some good news resolution to this. I would suggest calling the local police department. I don't think calling Joseph or his mother is going to amount to anything as Redstarone has already stated the money is gone and he tried to double sell models. And I am about 99% certain that he tried to sell me models he never had in the first place. Despite what he has tried to say about being an innocent and just foolish child I get the sense that he is fully aware and deliberatly stealing from people. His every action has been calculated to mislead and stall.

• Get BT account and make a quick purchase to get rep, Offer good deals for very difficult finds
  Make as many trades as possible before he was called out
  Only trade with Btowners listed in countries other than the UK
  Stall for time claiming to be posting "tomorrow"
  Stall for time claiming to be looking for tracking
  Stall for time claiming to be working with RedStar
  Probably cleared out his paypal account as soon as his game was up

All of this points towards methodical criminal behavior and I wouldn't be suprised if he was not a kid at all. I suggest contacting authorities asap.
