I've done some searching, and either because I'm not asking the right question to search with or what, but I can't find the answer.
Should people be allowed to keep up threads that contain items they've already sold? I've encountered this issue several times as it clogs up searches for me. I never understood why people just write "sold" after an item instead of deleting it off the thread.

Threads automatically expire over time.

They're allowed to because we're not in the "business" of micromanaging how people upkeep their ads. They're not even required to mark it as sold. So, you could see the "Sold" notations as a favor to you.
Plus, it makes more sense the THEM not to remove it. You might come to their ad looking for that one specific item, only to be enticed by something different.
