stuck in outbox

Post by Boz »

From time to time, for reasons unknown to me, messages seem to get stuck in my put box for along time - sometimes overnight or longer. Why is this?

That's where they stay until the other guy reads them.

Nope, like pretre sayeth.. they move from Outbox to Sentbox when the other chap has read them.. almost like a read-reciept.. so, if they sit for a day or 2.. don't worry.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I didn't want to start a new thread on a similar topic so I guess I'll add it here. I completed a trade back in September with a guy who never logged back in after I sent the package. I've had two messages annoyingly sitting in my outbox for a couple months now and I was wondering if there is a time limit on doing bad trader reports. I know I sent it and it was received according to the tracking but I was under the impression (at least a few years ago) that the tracking is eventually pulled off of the website and not accessible via the web. If I delete the messages to simply get rid of them, am I shooting myself in the foot if the guy comes back in another month and claims not to have recieved the items? Or is there a time limit as to when a negative reference or thread can be filed/started?

You can always take a screen shot of the delivery confirmation or save the site as a PDF.

Don't delete the messages. They're not hurting anything by being in your Outbox, and you never know when it might come in handy to have them there.
You should definitely file the BTR... immediately.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Want my help with a BTR or backout? All messages sent/posted should be in CHRONOLOGICAL order. Otherwise, I just won't read it.

I'm sorry for the confusion but I'm not keeping the messages to file a BTR but rather to *protect* myself from a possible future one at a future date. I sent him items and they were delivered but he's never logged in since I sent them. The outbox messages are annoying and I'd prefer to delete them but I want proof that the items were delivered and that I inquired twice with him about them (but he never responded). I do however like the idea of the screenshots though but I won't delete anything till the New Year in any case.

I understand this is not technically part of the issue, but I have 10 messages in my outbox that date to 2011 or before.. one is from 2009.

Now I am just kinda letting that one mature, like a fine wine.. to see how long it will last.. lol

I have refs older than that: 5-9-96.

Hey, BTW. who do I talk to to get those merged wit my current?
They're under my old email account. The ISP company merged with the phone company and I had to get a new account name. That was when I was on hitus from btown.
Theres about 34 refs.

I have 3 from 9/5/96. I think that is the default date for refs from the old site. I need to get mine moved someday too.
