How long is too long?

Hi guys,

I currently have a situation with a trade and I would like your input on this. We started negociating at the end of november. His High Elves for my PP Merc. force. He as lower feedback than me and agreed to ship first. He told me he shipped the models around the 6 or 7 of december.

On the january 11 I asked if he had news of the models since it's been over a month now and he said he would check with the post office. on the 13th he told me that the post office was looking with the lost mail department as it was registered.

That was the last communication from him. On the 26 january and the 2 february I sent him PM's but they are still in my outbox. His last visit on Bartertown seems to be on the 26 of january.

Now I don't know if something happened to the guy or what but it's been pretty long now. I know I haven't lost anything since I was shipping second but what should I do? Wait for the models or can I list them back?

Thanks for your time.

It does seem like a long time. Possible that it was hung up in customs but....Did he ever give you the customs number or anything?

I'd send him one final pm saying hey if I don hear from you by Tuesday the deal is null and void and re list then.

No I never got any number from him, the last thing I heard from him on the 13 of january was that he should have somes news by friday (jan. 14).

Yes one last PM seems like a good idea. thanks

If it's been more than a week since his last e-mail, I'd put up a BTR.

my thoughts, my OPINION, is that it's been well over a month and he hasn't started to get worried, IMPLIES TO ME, that he didn't ship.

If I sent something out, and it wasn't received in a month, to anywhere, I'd be all over the internet, the shipping services website, the local UPS/FEDEX/USPS wanting to know where it was.

ALso, registered mail and Express Mail, is scanned or signed for, at every handling; IN MOST COUNTRIES.

Smells to me like some rotten fish.

If the other guy was shipping first, it doesn't qualify for a BTR.
At most, once the OP establishes it as a back-out, it would be eligible for a BO thread.

Fine. Open a Backout thread and slap him with a Neg.

I did send him a last PM asking for a reply before this friday. If he doesn't respond, then I'll make a BackOut thread.

Thanks everyone for your input.

By "reply", I assume you meant "provide tracking number".

If he doesn't, I'd Neg him.

The whole non-responsiveness and non-communication thing is simply inexcusable.

If the guy can't take a minute to give an intelligent answer over weeks, he deserves the Negative.

yes, I did ask for the tracking info and what happening. I'm pretty sure i won't get any answer but I guess the last warning is the polite thing to do. If I get anything, I'll let you guys know.

thanks again

so the backout tread is up since he didn't respond and I've left him a Neg ref.

With a BO thread opened, there's no more need for this one.
