Missing Models

Post by ChopsLada_72 »

Hey All,

I'm in a situation that after so many transactions on Bartertown Ive never actually had to deal with and was hoping to get some advice on how others handle it.

I purchased some models and when they arrived, it was missing one of the main figures I had purchased. The twist of the story is that they said they can't log into Bartertown (they havent logged in since they sent that message) so they sent me a message via PayPal with the tracking number. After the box arrived I sent a message back via PayPal explaining the missing model and a few days later sent an email to the one attached to their PayPal just to cover all bases. The PayPal message was a week ago and the email 5 days. I know it is the holidays and things can get busy with life but at some point I have to assume it is long enough.

How much longer do I wait? And do I ask for a refund from PayPal just try and prompt a response and then resubmit the payment after the model is sent or I return their other models?

Any thoughts or guidance in the matter would be most appreciated. And Happy New Year! :-D

You can PM me the user and I can see what I can do on Btown's side. If they can't log into Btown, there is usually a reason. There are no current moderator actions requiring my attention, though, so I am not sure why they can't log in.

Obviously the best course of action to keep things grounded (especially during the holidays) would be to wait and see if they reach out. If I can resolve the issue on Btown's end, then that may help as well.

But at the end of the day you need to do what you feel is right, because it's your money. If you feel like sparking communication via refund submittal will prompt a faster response, then do it - just know that it may also prompt an unfriendly response (especially if Paypal freezes their account during the refund negotiations).

Holidays can get busy for people. But things should be getting back to normal now that the new year has begun. So my own biased, non-official-Btown-admin opinion would be to wait it out until the weekend (but still PM me the user so I can see if I can resolve the issues of logging in).
