Help! does anyone know the values of 1994 army boxes?

Hello all,

I just came across two sealed 1994 Warhammer Fantasy 2000 point army boxes, one is High Elves and one is Undead. I managed to get them for stupidly cheap at a farm toy show of all places. As I am currently trying to play Flames of War I want to sell these, as I know they are worth wayy more than I paid for them. Does anyone know what these boxes are worth nowadays? I only managed to find a Dark Elf box like these on ebay and it was priced at 430 some odd. I have know idea if that is in the ballpark for a fair price, so any help would be super.

Thanks,
DD

Take Ebay "prices" with a grain of salt. What its listed for is not necesarily what it will sell for. Look on GW site for current prices, compare it to the set contents and try to figure a price from there.

I search eBay COMPLETED auctions when I'm looking for a price. It will show you what they do -and do not- sell for.
Once I know what the average selling price is, I'll typically price mine just a hair lower.

I agree with the completed above with this very important caveat... "Something is worth what somebody will pay for it" works both ways...

Overprice it (if the prices are a little old) - push it 25% higher or maybe more... then slowly reduce until it sales... That is what I would do if I didn't know value or what I wanted for it... and had time to wait on payments.... Now this is rarely true of me, but I think it is what a smart/patient person would do.

I gave my kid a bunch of semi-rare and trash DVDs/BRs to sell last week.... and (trash) somebody actually bought a complete sanford and son for $30... I just bought it at Wal-Mart for $19.99... Now here is the thing...

I think that person was kind of stupid.... because I would of looked on any number of places for the item first (at a minimum Amazon but other retailers that can beat Amazon on select items as well)... He obviously didn't do that.

However, we don't know his circumstance... Maybe he lives in a place where there is no easy access to Wal-Mart or whatever... and maybe we can't easily use online purchasing... though I don't buy that... as he paid with PayPal...

Maybe he just got caught up in the auction... or maybe he was being smart and needed to use combined shipping on several items and it just blew up in his face... and being honorable he didn't retract his bid (illegally) like most people would do in that situation.

People are weird and do things for many unknowable reasons... If you want the max from the item you have to strategize around that...

I am too old, lazy and content to do that... but it can make you a lot more money... Like research the components... and break the box apart... do an auction with combined shipping and hope a fight issues... or do what I said (the semi lazy way) and overprice/and reduce until somebody buys it.

I have been on eBay since the start and have an account that is pretty psychotic on feedback... like a business looking account (feedback volume wise)... I know how to do it...

and it just depends on how badly you want the money or how quick you want the money... and how much of your own time you want to invest.

Thanks,
Sean

It is like one of the rules of bargaining... You never name a price... because you can only lose... If you say a value that is too high then they say yes and you just bought something for too much... If you say a value that is too low they laugh you off... You nail it and meh you get it at value...

You want them to say how much they want... and if it is too low you take else you rebuff and try to lower.

But you have to answer that question on Ebay (at least with buy it nows)... So, the best is maybe 20-25% past what it is worth and see if somebody wants it bad... and if not reduce until it sells.

Me - I never have time for that... but the money isn't worth as much to me as time... I am old.

Thanks,
Sean
