I thought we actually required something more than a blank base.
Did I miss a change?

@Imp.Off.
The painted bases on the assassin and aliens are perfectly fine, as-is.

Concerning the bases, over on the LAF forum in the painting challenge, they have this:

"All figures must be mounted on finished bases, which may be textured, painted (with a pattern or in a solid, finished single color) or consist of clear plastic (such as "flying" bases or clear acrylic/perspex shapes)."
So technically, a flat black base is acceptable. I feel it is more to stop having bases with brush strokes and wash pool marks. If someone paints it black (or paints the blue piece black to match the black plastic, I think that technically counts per the quoted rule.

Works for me, as long as it's clear!
Thanks.

Exactly. Most people do at least some color. And then edge the rim. All to clean it up and maybe blend in with a game board or terrain.
Everyone doesn't have to cover it with foliage from a $ store. ;-)

The floral/foliage is all dollar store. I wanted to mimic a jungle-like basing with a random assortment of bright flowers. Dollar stores have the best stuff.

I apologize, I took it as a joke at my expense and rolled with it.

At first glance, I really thought that I shouldn't be doing something like this (since I paint all day).

But I wonder how many points I'd get if I only count miniatures that I paint during non-work hours (ie- my own stuff).

There's nothing in the rules about pro painting or not.
That being said; I think you'd be held to a higher lever before you get bonus points.

I THINK we had a pro painter in a few years ago.
