Reconstituting GW Paint

I have some GW paint that was stored for an extended period of time... Some has just separated pigment from water-y substance... I think with those you can just stir it back up and you are OK... but what do you do if the paint hardened? Is there a good way to chemically reconstitute it in't an (at least) semi usable paint again?

I have had this happen before and just trashed the pot... but this is a good bit of paint... Hate the idea of of trashing all of it.

Thanks,
Sean

I used to use water, but was told that thins the pigment and should use a medium material. Like Lahmian medium or some other brand of medium.
That what the pigment is mixed with.
