2015 Bartertown Members Painting Challenge!!!

Post by hapotte » Sat Jan 03, 2015 1:03 am

Alright guys, here's the new painting challenge. It worked fine last year so the same rules will be used. Every Bartertowner and staff members may participate in the challenge.

For the new guys, it's pretty simple. I'll keep track of the points in the first post but please let me know the total of point you've painted in each post.

Only models painted after january 1st 2015 can be submited in the challenge.

Here is the info on the points..

Regular infantry, 6mm inf./vehicle stands, 15mm inf. = 1pt.
Ogres, Ogrun, Trolls, terminators, Light Warjacks, 15mm Cavalry, 6mm large vehicles, defensiveline = 2pts.
Cavalry, Bikers, 15mm tanks = 3pts
Heavy Warjacks, Manticores, Hellpit Abominations, Smallish Vehicles, carnifexes, 15mm Big Stuff, bastion = 5pts.
Medium Vehicle (Leman Russ, Eldar Falcon, Tau Devilfish, etc...) = 6 points
Large Vehicles (Land Raiders, Valkyries, Trygon, WM War Engines) = 8pts.
Very Large Model ( Baneblade, imperial knight, etc...)= 10pts
Really HUGE Stuff (Titan, Stompa, etc...) = case by case

Models must be fully painted and based to count for points.

Concerning the bases, over on the LAF forum in the painting challenge, they have this:

"All figures must be mounted on finished bases, which may be textured, painted (with a pattern or in a solid, finished single colour) or consist of clear plastic (such as "flying" bases or clear acrylic/perspex shapes)."

And here are the points! If you would like to join, just post and let me know.

Lower rating? You ship first.

Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Staffers can take part? I stopped posting in the 2014 one when I became part of Staff since it was a members challenge.

Alright so our first challenger is here! And to give you a actual challenge, I've added my name to the list. I'll try to paint more than last year and I hope to make 365 points, 1 point per day.....lets see how it goes...

Staff had their own, but it was little used in 2014, if at all. Plus, it's just a friendly competition. It isn't like there are any prizes on the line or anything.

Okay...let me try again...I entered in 2013 or 2012 and failed miserably. I need to get some projects done this year and this seems like a good way to help motivate...at least a little.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

Have you read the site rules? viewtopic.php?f=44&t=45470 If not do so.

See how much stuff I paint every year? You don't need to get on my case ;)

I have lots of stuff I want to do:
  • Lamenters Army
    Finish Necrons
Finish Skaven (still lots more stuff I want to do, and we will be getting more new stuff soon woohoo!)
Terrain. I need to make and paint terrain, it's a sin looking at it all in boxes or grey and staring at me coldly from beneath the table.
Ork Bike Army. Tossing around the idea of bringing it to tournaments and see what happens.
    Radical Inquisitor Army
Easy guidelines for trading with me:

The trader with the lower rating will need to ship first.
Delivery confirmation for both parties required. I will always send the delivery confirmation number to the receiving party, and I appreciate when the same is done for me.
Don't be a jerk or treat me like one.
Thanks!
