What glue to use on Forgeorld kits

Post by THEFAN »

I have finally bought my first Forgeworld kit. Bought a dragon!! :-D So I am looking it over and have to ask what would be the best glue to hold it together??? I tried zap ca and really no luck on small parts but after pinning the wings the glue held. For a test I tries testers cement and no luck on a small part. HMM... So what do you all use??

Super glue.

2 part epoxy in some rare cases.

Testors plastic cement is a no-go.
I am always in the market for weird and wonderful GW oddbitz and ephemera. PM me if you have something old/weird/rare.

I use various forms of super glue. zapagap isn't always the best.

Make sure what every your gluing is clean. That means WASHING the model in a sink with mild soapy water. You can use a mild hand soap or a few drops of dish soap. You don't want loads of suds, but you do need enough to break down the oils on the model from the molds.

It's the biggest rookie/newbie mistake skipped before painting or glueing metal and resin models. [yup you should wash FC also.]

Echoing the "clean models" advice from kt.
I LOVE Gorilla Glue super glue. It's all I use, now - even (especially?) on FW stuff.

on larger models, i would highly recommand pinning as well. For a dragon, them wings and stuff should be better pinned.
i tend not to pin smaller models but everything larger than a Rhino is better fully pinned...
