Hi, not sure if this has been asked before but is it possible to strip paint off of Forgeworld minis painted with GW and P3 paints? If so what could I use safely on the model without ruining it.

dunno about forge world, but 1 of the local players, who is a professional painter; both minis and furniture, told me to strip the Spartan Games Dystopian Wars models with wood alcohol.

I read on Dakka Dakka that the resin is more durable than plastic so whatever is safe for plastic should be OK on resin.

He told me that simple green wasn't strong enough but it will melt the resin.. I've found that out.

the nasty stuff: brake fluid will get the paints out of the resin but it's really nasty.
the safe stuff: Simple Green, several bathes of 2 hours max with a good brush and picks will get the paint off
the "pro" stuff: ultra-sound bath after a biodegradable paint remover (again check the timing for the bath as some of them will melt the resin...)

Best i found was brake fluid. Be careful though...I stripped large FW Eldar tank in Brake fluid. I however left it in for a little too long (3 days) as it was really thick paint on it. It softened it but it did harden up after about 3 months.
