Scratch-sculpting Wracks/Grotesques

What would you folks use as a base for the bodies of Wracks and Grotesques? The Finecast models are all well and good, but if I can pump out ten times as many by scratchbuilding from other plastic kits, it would be far better.
I'd originally thought about WHFB Ghouls, but in looking at the parts, they have a lot of bones jammed through their backs. I'm going more for a Frankenstein's Monster in Bondage look, and less mutant freak.

Any ideas?

Daemonettes? The grotesques I'm not sure what you'd use as they are more Ogre size.

I find these to be great proxies for Wracks and a Haemonculus:

I am thinking about getting this, painting the skulls metallic, to represent masks, and using them as Haemonculi:

I like the grotesque stand-in.

Check out this guys blog and his pictures for a great cheap (well cheaper anyway) alternative to grotesques.
