A quick way to clean up painting mistakes.

It's new to me.
I use Simple Green for stripping plastic and Pine Sol to strip metal.

I'm painting the dreadfleet bases on the sprue. I sprayed them with flat black. Then I base coated them with a thinned GW's Deadly Nightshade. Nice & dark.
I'm a fan of inks & washes. So, I hit them all with a coat of GW's Blue Wash.
It looked good wet, but when it dried, it looked almost purple. UGH.
I try to rinse it off under running water. No good.

So I figure, let's try a Black Ink. Nope. Too black, even thinned. Back to the sink. It rinsed off because I only tested 1 base & didn't let it dry.
Blue wash? Nope. Too light.
Rinsed off.

So here I am with a sprue of bases needing to get stripped. I don't want to strip them entirely, just the top layer of wash.
I go get my bottle or reused Simple Green. I put it in an old spray bottle and spray it directly on the bases, and then rinse under running water.
I repeated a couple times until it was back to the base coat of DN.

So, I just found a new way to strip paint, that's not dried hard, or too hard.

Nice to hear! I have always thought that stripping was an "All or Nothing" sort of thing..

This is a good thread, but I'm going to move it to a more appropriate "discussion" forum.

Windex or other glass cleaners are also great for removing inks. I've spilled inks on my paint desk multiple times and it cleans right off, even after drying.
