Okay, I'm thinking about breaking down and getting a Battlefoam case for my bugs. But before I do, I was interested if anyone else who had Tyranids has gone this route.
Specifically, BF doesn't have an insert for Hive Guard or Tyrant Guard or Raveners. Do they fit in Warrior slots well? Do they fit at all?
Also, the Gargoyle tray *really* doesn't look like it would hold the newest Gargoyle models. A lot of the new models seem more dynamic than these slots. But i don't know.
Anyway, are there bug players out there who can speak to how well (or poorly) Battlefoam trays hold a modern Tyranid army?
It's a rule of thumb for trades: check my feedback, I'll check yours. Lower rating ships first.

...but my recent experience can still help, i think.
I recently dropped a big amount on BF trays. I don't regret it.
That said, I did learn some things that you can put into use:
1) If you can't find a tray for it, ask them. Most times, they know what existing trays will work. If not, you can have one custom made. If you're buying a case and the custom tray is part of the case, it won't cost you anything extra for a custom tray.
2) Make sure you're looking at the right version of the tray. I was buying for DE and I said, "There's NO WAY that cut out will fit that model." Then I realized I was looking at the tray for the OOP model. When I pulled the tray for the new version, it was just right. That COULD be what's going on with your gargoyles.
3) Know EXACTLY what you need. Buy more than this if you can. I bought what I "needed" for my DE army, only to realize that I had more models using "special" slots (heavy weapons, sybarites, etc) than provided in the tray... the idea was to KEEP from doubling up. LOL
4) Know your depth. Some of the trays are available in multiple depths. Don't buy 1" if you need 1.5" the reverse is even MORE true, since that extra half inch can mean the difference between a tray fitting or not.
5) If you use custom bases, take this into account. I have my whole army mounted on (or working on it) Dragon Forge bases. These bases are 1/8 to 1/4 inch taller than regular GW bases. That WILL affect the way they fit in the slots.
Good luck with your purchase.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.
