Painting and basing FB Orks

Post by CMSheats »

Hello all. I have recently just gotten a army of Orks and I need some advice on how to paint them. I have painted goblins before but never this type of Orks.

Would somebody mind telling me what colors work good for these guys? For their skin? It looks like I would paint them whatever color of green, then add a black wash, and add a lighter green as a highlight. Would something like that work? My problem is knowing what shades of green to use. So whoever has painted Orks, boar riders, Ork Heros, Trolls, you know the whole shabang, would you mind dropping a line and a pic to give me some ideas?

As far as basing goes, I am hoping to get them bases for a board like this.

It will have a more snow, and of course, the buildings will not be there they will be dead trees. Does anyone have some basing ideas / Pictures? Anything would be apriciated. Thanks!

I generally use the Dark Green Vallejo paint that is watered down (2:1) paint vs water over a flat grey base coat / primer.

Here's a n example of my 40k Ork Warboss.

I like your idea for the bad moon banner: that's a nicely creative approach.
True, we love life, not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving. There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.

I expect honesty about models' conditions, thank you.

If I don't respond in a day or two, please check back, I've forgotten-sorry.
