So, I'm thinking about picking up this model just for the fun of painting it. Great, dynamic posing, and plenty of little details to spend time on.
Problem is, I can't decide if I should get the new Finecast version, or the recently-OOP metal version. Anyone lay hands on both, and abel to tell me if the Finecast version has a significantly greater level of detail? Finecast is nice and all, but with that banner on her base, and her hair, I want to make sure I'm not going to get some bent-up, droopy model.
I can deal with metal. I can't deal with rubbery resin.

with so many small part on Lileth models, you'd better go with the metal models. Chances are most of the thin parts on the Finecast version will be wrapped, and finecast resin is not like FW ones, it's a pain to straighten properly....

If you can go to the store and physically look at the model fincast isn't bad. I would never order one, though.

I have heard Finecast, when properly molded, is really nice to work with. Preps and primes easily, and takes paint really nicely. anyone I have talked to loves it, assuming they can get a piece that is not miscast (local store got 2 new haemonculus in, both are on the shelf miscast).

I am currently painting up this model. I got the finecast one and it has been going very well. I didn't have any issues putting the model together and everything was straight. As for straightening the gw resin it goes pretty easy with a hair dryer.

Thanks, all. I'll have to stop by my FLGS and see if they have the Finecast version in stock. The nice thing about the line is that the clamshell is clear, so you can inspect the model pretty thoroughly before purchasing it.

As I understand, finecost does not straighten with a dryer, as it's "bendy" and reverts back to it's previous shape.

I would go with metal, myself. I don't know how much more detailed the finecost one is, but there's a TON of detail in my metal Lelith and she'll be sturdier/easier to fix than the finecost version, should something break.
