Anyone watched the Hot Lead painting DVD's?

I'm debating buying these for myself but don't want to waste $46. Has anyone seen these, and if so what are your thoughts? Is the series worth the money?

Hi Lin

Never heard of 'em before your post.
http://hot-lead.org/dvd/index.html

Their sample videos look pretty good. There is one review on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Miniature-Instruc ... B001O6CG9C
Based on the topics covered, and the amazon review, it certainly looks as though the series is not intended for beginners.

Miniwargaming.com does currently offer a free mini painting ebook download:
http://www.miniwargaming.com/freeebooks/
But I believe it is more geared toward beginners. However based on emails I received from them, I believe they are in the process of upgrading to tutorials toward more advance techniques (if they haven't already done so). In any event since it is free it is worth a look to see if it offers pointers on the techniques you're looking for before you invest in HotLead.

Please post on how this all works out as I haven't yet downloaded miniwargaming's videos yet.

Thanks, Ralph.

I decided to go ahead and order the DVD's. I'm no pro but I was able to follow the preview videos pretty well. Unfortunately they won't be shipping anything out until the 29th, but I'll keep everyone updated on how it works for me. :-)

I think they're excellent. Very well explained and shot tutorials.

My favourite DVD is the one by JBT but I think it's difficult to get hold of now.
