equiping a winged hive tyrant

Post by meecham63 »

Hi guys, I have an question about the winged hive tyrant.

In the creature decription, it is indicate than I can equip it with 2 pairs of scything talons. I can also add a pair of wings, and it is not indicate that I have to remove a pair of talons for that. Som by the book, I can have 2 pairs of scything talons and a pair of wings.

But on the figurine, I can only have on pair of scything talon and wings. Difficult to play WYSIWYG.

What's the solution ?

Thanks !

Most people attach the wings to the carapace.
The FW model (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4 ... YRANT.html) has the wings in the arm holes, but says "Armed with a Venom Cannon and Scything Talons." Maybe they count the blades on the wings as a set of talons?

GW decided quite a while back when they redesigned the 'nids that they'd have three pairs of "appendages."

If you are doing wings, look to the FW model as your "guide" and you'll see that model follows GW's decision... wings count as "one pair" of the appendages, limiting the player to a pair of feet, pair of wings, and only one other "pair" for shooty-clawy-talony goodness.

And while it may not "officially" spell out, "three pairs only," in the written rules, it is the design they decided on and have stuck to since (with minor exceptions.)
None of these things are VITAL, this is a HOBBY. A hobby we enjoy, but still, a HOBBY.

Lower rating ships or pays 1st, myself included. Used to be more flexible; but was burned in recent months by a few newbies. If 200+ feedback w/no negs and 10+ years member is not enough to be trusted, well, like I said - none of this is VITAL.

Yeah, I agree with MagikalMemories, but it is not easy to attach the wings on the carapace and still a good visual figurine. I think that claws on the wings would be his second scything talons.

Mardaddy, your point is still good, as visualy the fig can only have 1 pair of arms with weapons or claws.

The Forge World fig could be the solution, but they are really expensive :/

Somehow, yesterday I overlooked that this is in the wrong forum.

Moving to Discussions.
