Demonworld coming back

Post by imp522 »

Just saw Ral Partha Europe picked up the old Demonworld line. http://www.ralparthaeurope.co.uk/
Simply the best 15mm Fantasy miniatures ever done in my opinion. I'm very stoked that they are coming back.

I still think that this is one of the best tabletop miniature games both concept and design that has ever been released. Sadly its initial life was pretty short and I never got a chance to get to deep into it although and Warhammer still took up most of my hobby time 10 years ago. I am not making that mistake again. I am all over this like white on rice. Already downloaded the books and have started ordering figs.

After reading the rules again after many years they seem a little behind the curve. They were cutting edge for 1999 but dont really blend all that well with the more sleek by desings rules that seem to be the norm these days. A little trimming would be good but overall the rules basics still seem pretty sound to me. I am pretty sure I will trim a few things even in my games and make some adjustments.

Some of the concepts are just to long winded and could be easily solved with some simpler concepts.

I agree with you on their rules and I see there is talk of them being updated by another company http://www.redbrick-limited.com/cms/ind ... tegoryid=1. But the miniatures are what I'm really excited about. Just bought a new army of empire troops for use in 3rd ed warhammer,Battlesystem and Armies of Arcana.

Yeah. I like games played on grids so I like the DW rules but Redbrick has confirmed they have plans to revise the game itself. From what I have been told by RB and the folks at RPE is that they are pretty much focusing on getting the rules and figs in the hands of the fans of the game and people looking for 15mm fantasy in general while assessing the market potential for the line before going for a full market release. Either way I am going to get my hands on as much stuff as I can while I can...you never know.
