Hello B towners, I have 2 rules questions .

Based on the rules on page 6 paragraph 3 , reserves are not allowed until turn 2.

1) NOW In the book Psychic Awakenings War of the spider. Assassins Are set up in a "concealment" and may appear at the end of "ANY" movement phase. but must appear by turn 3 or be lost.

SO is the Assassin allowed to appear on turn 1 ??

2) Same issue but for Custodes. The Stratagem is called "From Golden Light they come".

It reads.

Use this stratagem during deployment. Instead of placing them on the battlefield ,you can set up one ADEPTUS CUSTODES INFANTRY, BIKER, or DREADNOUGHT unit from your army in a Godstrike- pattern telepotarium array for 1 cp', or two such units for 3 CPs. At the end of any of your Movement phases these units can teleport into battle- set them up anywhere on the battle field that is more than 9" away from any enemy models . This stratagem can only be used once per battle.

Since this card states "AT THE END OF ANY TURN" can you still do this on turn 1 even though the tourney rules state no "reserves" until turn 2.

which is it???

thanks for your time guys.

It used to be that reserves could come in at the end of the 1st movement phase.
That got nerfed in previous editions. For whatever reason, they still use that phrasing, though there ARE rules in the BRB that prohibit it on Turn 1. It's all covered under Strategic Reserves.

That should cover what you're looking for.

8th edition wording vs 9th edition rules. 9th edition specific rules (drop pods)>mission rules (each mission has a section for when reinforcements arrive)>brb>8th edition rules. If I understand it correctly, which I might not.

But to be blunt unless you’re at a tournament play it like your group wants to play it. And if you’re at a tournament assassins are in kind of a poo place atm, I think I’d bring something else for that 100+ pts. Just my opinion.
