Actual SoB model or 3rd party?

Post by 3eland »

Was chilling on eBay when I saw this model set. Is it actually GW models or 3rd party? Never seen it before but it has things that are SoB specific, like the back packs and stuff.

3rd party and IIRC ripoffs, think the actual sculptor stopped selling 'em.

I expect honesty about models' conditions, thank you.

Would explain the base on the far right.

Pity, they are nice looking models. I thought perhaps it was an older Forgeworld model as they like to do weird things.

Yeah, not perfect, but they're pretty nice, and I have much more qualms with someone recasting what someone small created than them recasting some stuff GW proper put out, since they can take a lot more.

Pretty sure FW's only SoB love were their tanks.

If the thing didn't cost the same as some Forgeworld models I would pick it up but man.

See them on Russian sites a lot, along with some other non-gw sculpts that fit in with 40k. Not sure who originally made them though, I'd be interested in finding that out.

Those Russian sites often have minis that are official as well as re-casts from lots of different companies.

As for these sisters- their anatomy is very non-GW, and the bases are definitely non-GW as well.

They look good, though. I don't know that there's a good way to make a whole army of them, however. But I'd love to see it, you know?

Now that I'm thinking of it, I wonder why Victoria Lamb hasn't made any Sisters of Battle minis.
