BTR DanWeber: Dan Weber -Resolved

Hi Folks.

I hate to be on this role but it seems some people only take us seriously when we go to this point

Per messages below you can see I have an ongoing purchase with Dan AKA DanWeber and he is failing on doing his part. Long Story short, we negotiated, I paid him 13 days ago and he simply disappeared then. I already checked and he HAS visited the site after the money was sent but he is simply ignoring my messages and my attempts to contact him.

I HAVE NOT started the claim at paypal for I decide to give him a chance to explain himself and take some actions about the situation here. I'm also looking for advise from the admins to identify when would be the correct moment to start the claim at paypal.

Enough said - messages below:

Paulo,

Sorry for ignoring you. I've been ill the past couple of days and hadn't been online. I'm still lighting fires under my pendings, but if you find another lot before I can get back to you, I totally understand. Hopefully I can have a solid list for you tomorrow that includes the Extreme DT.

Paulo,

I think the 3 opened Long Riders are going to be available. It looks like the guy who had committed to them is going to drop them off his list.

Sorry for the back and forth.

I'm going to speak up on this for the simple fact that I had a trade going with Dan as well. Mine took a while to get rolling, but Dan has provided a tracking number to me so all is wel on my part. I am speaking up in defense of DanWeber. He obviously had lots of trouble in the end getting some things out, but like I said, he did get mine out after a long delay, but he said he had some difficulties arrive with illness and drama.

I'm not telling you that everything will be "all right", I'm just saying that he may take more time than usual. And then adding in the fact that you live in Brazil, even after it gets going, the customs boys are gonna have to take their own sweet time. I remember that from when I sent a package to you, and even then a tracking number may not be an option without the global express (kturock would be the best one to ask that one to). I seem to remember some difficulty in getting one for our deal.

Now, however, the customs declaratory thing...that's a whole different can of worms so to speak.

Anyway, back to point. As a reference, even after a delay, I DID get mine from Dan, so it's not a dead issue. Hopefully Dan will contact you.

yup.. theres only a couple ways to track international orders...both are expensive.

i suggest you file a claim with paypal, before it gets too latte. i believe you only have 30 calender days to file. you can always drop the paypal claim, and release the funds..
you never know, the notice from paypal might be enough to get him to ship.

just my suggestions.

thanks Stan and Kturok,

you guys have dealt with me in the past and I believe I was reasonable all the way to the end of our deals or quotes - my problem here is NO ANSWERS, NO CONTACTS, NOTHING whatsoever - I would've understood problems or issues being soved but simply leaving me to my thoughts is not cool, specially since he was very accurate following up the payment and had come here a couple times since the money was sent,

I hope for the same as you Stan!

regards

Paulo

Paulo, I think you were right in posting this.
If you and I were in a trade and I went that long without contacting you, I'd fully expect you to file one on me... So...

There are a couple points I want to address...

Regardless of his history, as I hinted at above, this long without contact is unsatisfactory.

Also, and I feel the need to address this ONLY because it's been posted.

Bartertown does not support willfully misleading information on Customs forms.
What you do in private is YOUR business. If it becomes public knowledge, however, a staff member WILL speak out against it on the record.

Your time fram with PayPal is 45 days. File now... like this second... stop reading Bartertown and file with PayPal, then come back. The sooner you file, the better chance you have of getting your $ back. if it turns out he was legitimately detained (hospital, etc) or you receive your models, you can always cancel your claim or send the money back.

Go to USPS.COM. if it was mailed in the US and enter the number he gave you, and make sure the number exists. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but I always check to verify that it is a good number. Somethimes it takes up 24 hours for a good number to show up in the online system.

Was just directed here by a friend.

Didn't realize I'd been added to the Bad Trader list. I did have some personal issues, although that's no excuse for not getting back to Paulo sooner...

Tracking was sent, package arrived in Brazil last week, and I believe it's been delivered. I'll wait for Paulo to come onto the thread and confirm this, but wanted to be sure I'd put in an appearance and publicly apologized for the concerns and delay.

At this point, i'm sure there were many here presuming the worst.

Once Paulo posts in the thread that the box was received and everything was as listed, I'll lock it and mark it resolved.
