BTR: werelizard AKA Mike Lynch - Resolved by Werelizard

Unfortunately this is my first attempt at a transaction on Bartertown, and it's been a thoroughly aggravating experience. The general overview is that I negotiated an order for a bundle of Mordheim models from Mike Lynch (werelizard) on the morning of Aug 3 in response to his listed thread (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=339483), paid him immediately through Cashapp, he confirmed and promised to ship ASAP and then proceeded to not ship the models and either totally ignored my attempts to contact him or lied consistently about him shipping.

He's a longstanding member of this community and appears to have consistent problems getting things put in the mail in a timely fashion. I saw this thread (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=338168) a few hours after I had paid Mike, so I started pestering him for updates consistently because it made me nervous that I wouldn't receive anything if I didn't stay on top of him.

At this point when he has bothered to respond to attempts to contact him (PM, email, Cashapp refund requests), he has consistently lied that he would send the models out "tomorrow" or that he was doing it "today" and he would send tracking ASAP.

He's currently claiming that he was evicted last week and that's why my shipment has been delayed (he was supposed to send the models a week prior to this regardless). It seems he's had a series of unfortunate events this year, and I'm very understanding of real life problems that can cause issues or make hobby stuff take a backseat, but his lack of communication and the fact he doesn't reach out to explain anything is unacceptable.

At this point he may or may not have mailed me anything. I don't know that I'll get any tracking out of him, and he does appear to eventually do what he's supposed to do (according to people who have dealt with him in the past), but this is entirely unacceptable behavior. He does not currently have any negative references, but this appears to be a consistent pattern with him.

I would never have engaged in a transaction with him if I had any idea of how much legwork it was going to take to flog him into (maybe) shipping my order. I've had to reach out to multiple mods and other members who have graciously helped me with this.

I'm currently compiling my documentation and going to pull background check info on him so I can file police reports and let it go from there. If he does manage to get around to sending me tracking info or if a package shows up with what I ordered, I'll update this thread accordingly.

It is absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful to go radio silent after promptly accepting payments for orders. I think he should be banned from the forum for that alone even if it turns out he isn't an actual criminal.
