Sent this guy the PMs for some space marine shoulder pads below. He never sent them. It took me forever to get around to this but here it is. Paypal got me half my money back so its not a total loss. Mr. Bartle Karma is a bitch. Hope the $60 bought him methadone or something he really needed.

Not too big a deal about the pictures, Im not leaving Afghanistan anytime soon. My wife will be recieving the shoulder pads in America...so Id like to see them as her descriptions are stellar when it comes to my hobby. (Im sure you can imagine)

Just shoot me your ebay user name so I can check your feedback.
Then shoot me the old Pay Pal id/email.
Lastly I guess Ill need the total w/ postage...I dont know your postal costs.

I was thinking did you just want to do this on ebay? Im very new to barter town. You could set up an auction for a buy it now for the shoulder pads under some random catagory with a proper description/downloaded pic...include the ebay auction costs in the price. LMK the ebay number and Ill purchase them. That way we are both protected and both get feedback!

Its up to you Pics or Ebay... Im easy.(if thats easy) Thanks. Im going to be off work and will check this again in 12 hours. Thanks again.Quote the_traderRe: pads

These are the GW Space Marine Crossed Swords Assault Shoulder Pads? 300??? Wow.

Id love to take them all off your hands...Is there any thing you need trade wise?

I cant offer full price though...for 300 thats more than I can spend at the moment.

Hows about $110. Should all fit in a flat rate shipping box. So call it $120 w/ shipping...or about .5 price.

LMK Im very motivated. It may take my correspondence a little while Im in Afghanistan with the 101st right now...Thanks.Quote the_traderpads

Ginn, this really sucks. I'm sorry to see you were screwed by him.

You should know you're not alone. There are BTR threads on him, and he even has his own Hall of Shame thread. he was a bad one.

Worst of all was that some users here arranged a HUGE initiative against him with his local police. Bottom line? They won't do anything to him. He got away with it.

The best we can do is hope that karma bites him in the *ss.

Man, that's one lame excuse to dodge a request to prove that the seller has what he's selling...

One of the things I have noticed about the_trader and his ilk is the lack of good communication skills.
It's one thing to type quickly and mis-spell things, but the missing words, lack of puncuation, and incorrect verb tenses are just mind-numbing.
I am always disinclined to trade with folks that have exhibit these types of traits.
It's almost like if they do not have the courtesy of actually trying to communicate well, how contientous are they going to be as traders?

so i guess you and i will never be dealing.

i find that people who are good with words, are the ones who are good at veiling their meanings with words. [like most professional speakers; politicians, lawyers, religious and other motivational speakers.] they know best how to twist the meanings of words. words are used for deceipt; lies. actions don't.

i find that traders who do not spell out everything in detail; are the ones to watch out for.

i find that experienced traders usually use reply and have a string of continuity to follow.

BS and kt BOTH make valid points.

BS is correct that many of the "problem traders" do exhibit these tendencies.
KT is right, though, in that this does not mean that someone who messes up verb tenses, etc., will automatically be someone to wory about.

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to say here.
I have not found any of your posts problematic.

I don't quite agree with you. Someone who is clear and to the point is someone I would consider good with words. The whole point of good communication is to not veil or otherwise obfuscate meaning.

Totally agree, which makes me a bit perplexed about your post as we seem to be in general agreement as to what is good communication.
If I have offended you somehow, I appologize, as that was not my intent.

I was mearly pointing out that folks who can't communicate clearly are generally folks to keep an eye on.
If you feel the need to discuss this further, please don't hesitate to PM me!

Good call.

As this is a BTR thread, we really can't be wandering any further OFF topic.

Thanks.

it's been commented by other traders, they don't like my lack of use of capitol letters. or sometimes my lack of grammar.

i find that experienced or good traders speak in specifics, while new or or traders attempting to scam usually don't. experienced traders have pictures of anything not new or unbuilt.

For proof of this type of attitude, follow the personal attack against me in this series of posts:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=90026

Not once did the poster counter my statements. He, since 95% of gamers are male, even though this poster has a female avatar; uses words not in common speach.

"I condensend, use words most people don't understand or at least don't use; therefore, I'm superior to you."

Also note; the first post was not against lawyers. I know I've had several good deals with some here. They should be the first to agree. They know that words used in contracts, testimony, laws and other things they deal with in a daily basis, are examined and scrutinized constantly.

Please see this thread...

viewtopic.php?f=46&t=76740

It details what was done about the_trader problem...

Although some people think NOTHING happened to J Bartle. He did get arrested and now has a criminal record. He did no jail time or suffer any fines.

We also contacted most of the gaming clubs & stores in his home town and informed them of what exactly happened. He is now a know thief and pariah in his home town amongst gamers.

The guy is a slightly mentally <not smart> loser, that got a little more sympathy than he deserved from the UK Police.

So really would you consider that NOTHING...i think not.

He was arrested, and he was questioned... but he was ultimately released and not charged.
Something about a mental issue... dyslexia or something...
It's in the thread on him in the Hall of Shame.

Can't understand why this guy still has a Btown account, he has been ripping people off for 2+ years. He got me about a year ago for $50.

BTown - can you delete this guys account please and keep him off the site, another rip off last month, does not make sense to me??
