I'd be happy doing a straight up trade.

As for pics I can't get those for some time, the best I can do is give you a as detailed description as possible. I've had some things happen at home and to make a long story short, no longer live there. So I'm out on most of my luxuries.

The 4 Whirlwinds are built to perfection, 2 have the Castellian Launchers, and the other 2 have Vengence missles. The Speeder is a Assault Cannon, Heavy Bolter combo. They are all primed Dark Angels Green.

The 10 Space Marine bikes are Built, all are bare plastic, 1 is Chaos and primed black, some riders are glued on as I got them from a different trade, the riders I built myself don't sit properly on the bikes although this could be do to the fact they have backpacks on.

The 6 Land Speeders. 3 are Assault Cannon, Heavy Bolter combo and we're started to be primed Dark Angels Green. The riders are not glued on and all bitz are seperate for painting purposes.

The other 3 are Typhoon Missle Launchers and Multi-Meltas. These are primed black and I think 1 is put together completely.

Thats what I can remember off hand as I don't have them in front of me right now.

Let me know what you think.

Sounds good to me. So I guess your familiar with the trade layout right? Lowest ships first? I'll let you know when it gets here and then I shall ship my stuff to you.

This is actually the first time I haven't had to ship first, I kinda feel proud I've actually made it this far on this site.

So my current mailing address will be...

Great, I was pretty sure it should ship well, but the flag poles concerned me a little. Glad to hear there were no issues then.

Letting you know I got the shipment today.

I am not sure what happened, but one of the SM bikes who had a sword is missing the blade. Also there are 2 bikes missing the bolters for the front. One also has the front cowling broken in half. I may have another cowing to use for that, but I do not have any additional bolters.

Also I think you forgot include the Land Speeder drivers and gunners as I am missing a number of them. Your offer was 6 Land Speeders, 3 Typhoon and 3 Assault Cannon, plus 1 additional Assault cannon model for the Suppression Force. I receieved only 2 Typhoons and 3 total Assault cannon models. Also only 1 model total included the Hvy Bolter, so I am also missing 3 Hvy Bolters and 3 Multi-meltas for them. The missing drivers and passengers are from 4 of the Land Speeders. I looked over the Land Speeder models and a couple bits are missing, and one model is even not completely assembled. It's missing the Top spoiler wing and also the Engines from the back, while 3 others are missing armour plating for the Driver compartment. You also forgot to include the bases for all of the Land Speeders.

So, the sum total of missing items is:
4x SM biker bolters
1x set of Typhoon missle launchers
1x Assault Cannon
4x Land Speeder Drivers
4x Land Speeder Gunners
3x Heavy Bolters
3x Mult-Meltas
7x Large Flying Bases

Land Speeder bits; Top spoiler wing and engines, 3x front Driver Armour plates.

Can you please review your inventory to see about resolving thee missing items and get back to me.

Thanks

John.

BTW: The Whirlwinds all look good. Great job on modeling and base coating them!

Crap. I dont know what happen to the bikes, they should of all been in good condition. If you want a new power sword I can find one of those, or a fist, whichever you prefer.

I'll try to find those drivers. I know somewhere I have a small plastic bag with the missing parts in it, its just a matter of where the hell I put it.

Unfortunitly, I dont have bases for those models, anything I previously traded for never came with them.

If worse comes to worse and I cant recover the missing bag of Land Speeder Bitz, maybe we can work something out, cash or additional models. We'll see, I'll stop by my house tomorrow and look through my stuff, I've still got TONS of marines that I need to sort through, so the pack may be somewhere amongst the models.

Keep in touch and I'll do the same.

I think I have a replacement sword to use. I was also thinking I may be able to convert some standard bolters for use on the bikes, I woudl appreciate you checking on the Land Speeder bits that are missing and the Drivers/Gunners as I have no way to replace or convert them.

Just following up. Did you get a chance to go through your stuff looking for the missing drivers and gunners for the land speeders?

Don't worry on the bases. I will just have to buy some I guess, the real issue is the drivers and gunners with the missing hvy bolters and multi-meltas.

Ok, Just keep me on your contact list. I woudl really like to close out this trade, but I am somewhat stuck, as the Speeders are somewhat hard for me to field as of now. I guess I can buy the missing bits through TheWarstore, but that would only solve the missing weapons and not the guys themselves as they don't sell those bits. The weapons alone would cost $21 for 3 of each weapon. Ouch. I guess the driver and gunner could be fabricated from regular marines and greenstuff, but that just ups the cost more.

Let me know what you find out, and baring you finding the missing bits, maybe we can figure out somethign else to offset the costs it will take for me to resolve the bit issue myself.

Thanks again for getting back to me so quick.

Well its gone another week . I am thinking the missing bits have been eaten by the Warp.

What at this point do you want to do? As I indicated in a previous post, I can repurchase the bits to replace the missing weapons, but the guys woudl be a no go as the bits are not available. I believe I can fabricate them from a squad box though so that is an option for me to go. The weapons to replace would be $21 from Neal at thewarstore, and the marines would be another $35. so basically $55 in cost for me.

Do you want to offer up something additional to offset this out-of-pocket of mine?

Let me know if you want to do this. I have no idea what you have available at this point though so I would need an updated haves list. I even would branch out and accept non DA marine stuff, maybe LotR if you have that.

To be honest, I hate having to fix it this way. As the cost would be somewhat prohibitive, bits alone are like $50+. If you want, why don't you forward me your haves list and maybe there is something else on it that can be used to reduce some of the cost.

I feel bad that we have come to this and would like to make it so you’re not out anything more than necessary.

Let me know what you want to do. Here is a rundown of the bits and the costs from BattlewagonBits

3x SM Vehicle Heavy Bolter - http://www.thewarstore.com/product27080.html - $2.99 = $8.97
3x SM Vehicle Multi-Melta - http://www.thewarstore.com/product33977.html - $3.99 = $11.97
SM Tactical Squad Torsos(10) - http://www.thewarstore.com/product27012.html - $5.99 - $5.99
SM Tactical Squad Heads(10) - http://www.thewarstore.com/product27012.html - $1.75 - $1.75
SM Tactical Squad Shoulder Pads(20, 10 sets) - http://www.thewarstore.com/product27002.html - $2.99 - $2.99
5x SM Gunner Arms - http://www.thewarstore.com/product27057.html - $1.99 - $9.95
SM Tactical Squad Arms(10 - for pilots) - http://www.thewarstore.com/product26977.html - $2.99 - $2.99

Total cost of Bits: $44.61 + Shipping ($2.99) = $47.60 + missing engine bit cost.

The only bit this is not counting is the missing engines for the one speeder. Unfortunately, I can't get that bit as it is a sprue only item.

Let me know what you want to do. I am more than willing to have you send me something else to help compensate, or you could just pay the costs via paypal and I can order the bits myself with that.

Vincent,

Just checking on the status of the additional trade items to resolve the missing bits from our trade. I noticed you hadn’t read my last PM and thought it might be best to send you a direct email. I look forward to hearing from you on either the available trade list you have or that you are sending me the funds to replace the missing bits. We estimated the cost to fully replace the missing bits at about $50. If you would prefer to resolve via payment, please send the payment to me via paypal at jlong05@cox.net.

If you would like to resolve via additional models (as you originally offered) please send me your current haves list and I am sure we can find something you can send that would make everything right for me. Just let me know.

I am setting a deadline for this to be resolved for the end of this week. I need either funds transferred or the haves list and an agreement worked out from you by end of the day Friday 5/9/2008. This is so you can still ship anything needed on Saturday. This has been what has been suggested by the admins for Btown. It was recommended to allow a final email to resolve prior to any other actions being taken.

I have about 100 nameless figures, Basically there all missing something or arn't set up the way Id like them to be. So it's basically 100 Space Marines with minor missing things ie. Shoulder Pads, weapons, heads etc.

I think... I still have 3 Dreadnoughts. All basic form.

I have New In Box Karsikin Squad.

I also have a huge array of Nids my friend just gave me.

So thats everything I can think of right now. Let me know what you think

Vincent,

Glad to hear back from you. Sounds like you have a very good start going for the Imperial Fists army. Some Assault Marines sounded good, but I wouldn’t want to take any of them if you are in deed trying to create that army. As such here is what I am interested in to make up for the missing bits that I will be ordering.

>New In Box Kasrkin Squad
>Vindicator

If you are OK with using these items to fill the missing stuff, let me know. If you still need my shipping information, it is;

John Long
<EDIT>

If you agree and can ship out this weekend, please just send me a confirmation email with the shipping DC#

Thanks again,

John.

Yea, I mostly like to run infantry, so I'm going out for the full 1000 space marines for Imperial Fists.

Just to be sure, it's only 1 Vindicator you want along with the NIB Kasrkin Squad?

Yes. NIB Kasrkin and the 1 Vindicator. I didn’t think you would agree to more than 1. 
I assume that the Vindicator is assembled. You didn’t say either way so I wasn’t sure. Also is it bare plastic? Primed, base coated? Is it also based in DA Green like the Whirlwinds were?
In any case, those items would be acceptable to me in replacement for the missing Land Speeder Bits. If you want to toss in a pile of your left over marines that you have that are missing parts, I may be able to use them for terrain stuff or something.

Just shoot me an email with the DC# when you ship. I assume you will be shipping out on Monday now that the weekend has hit.

When I get the package I will let you know and we can then leave feedback. I think this will resolve any issues on the feedback and allow for us to both get good feedback.

Thanks again

Alright then. It is primed Dark Angels Green and is built very well, the person who I traded to get it also filled in the mold lines so this is a top of the line Vindicator.

So at this point, although I did receive some of the promised items, many as stated are not usable in games due to them not being modeled as described and missing key components, I am now having to follow the BTR process. I had really hoped to not have to do this and that Vincent and I would be able to resolve this on our own. I realize that the posts above would indicate that I would have shipped last which ‘would’ have eliminated some of this fuss, however at the time this deal was struck I had the lower trader rating. I only wish I had completed a few other trades prior to this deal, as I am sure Vincent would have been more forthcoming in his communication and follow-up if he would have still been waiting on the Eldar models.

If an Admin(Lin or MB) could maybe confirm this BTR and then let me know how I should proceed. At this time no feed back has been left.

Thanks,

John.

Sounds good to me. So I guess your familiar with the trade layout right? Lowest ships first? I'll let you know when it gets here and then I shall ship my stuff to you.
He has a 22 rating and you have a 58. Why did he post that and get you to ship first? Surely, you weren't lower than him back in march. Were you? I mean, you've been around a while.

Yes, I was lower when that was negotiated. In fact, he was a 22 and I was a 14 I believe, in fact at time we had an agreement I was at 14 and later that same day I completed 2 more trades bumping me to 18 and had 2 more 3 days later for the 22 he has had the entire time. Like I said, I sort of wish I had completed a few more trades prior to getting the agreement with Vincent.

As for me being around for a while, I really have truly only been active over the last 2-3 months, I just have completed A PILE of successful trades during that time.

Hmm. Maybe I'm just used to seeing you on other sites, and that's compounded my recognition factor.

Anyway, it looks like you've done about everything you can.

The only thing I'd do is email him linh to this thread with a reminder of just what Mail Fraud is and what its' legal punishment entials.

Most likely that is the case. I do appear on a number of other forums.

I had not thought about sending the final notification but that is a good point. I have just sent a notice to Vincent and have also included it in this thread below as it was communication on this trade.

Vincent,

Due to the failure of communication and no confirmed reshipment or payment confirmation to resolve the issue of the missing bits, I have followed the advice and policy of the Bartertown website. It was also suggested that I direct you to this thread so you have every opportunity to comment and resolve the dispute also.

viewtopic.php?t=64958

I ask that you take this opportunity to resolve this so that we can dispense with the unpleasantness this has brought.

You've been MORE than patient with this guy. Even now, still giving him a chance to make good. (if you are reading this Snowdog-take it!!!)
He deserves a negative(-10) reference.

I liked, and was impressed by the fact that you sent emails previously that you got a return receipt on... I'd suggest sending him the same notification via email.

I will followup when I get the Receipt notice of it being displayed and of course any response I get from him directly. Once I hear from Lin of MB that this report is validated I will of course leave feedback.

Given the unbalanced nature of the trade (his stuff about a $400 value to your roughly $250) and he was more than willing for a straight across I would have at least wondered a little bit as to the condition of the models.

I did too, and honestly expected models it a little bit of a sorry shape, probably needing repairs and such, but fully expected to get the actual bits that indicate the nature of a model. ie, I could probably lived without the gunner and drivers(minor issue) but for the speeders to have been listed WITH heavy bolters and multi meltas which indicates they 'had' those weapons, to then not get them was a bit disappointing.

This of course is another example of a learning experience. If there is 'any' doubt in the condition of a model, pics should be asked for and provided. I did ask, but he wasnt able to provide and I did accept. But again, the bits were indicated to be all inlcuded and were not.

As it was, I had replacement bits for the bolters that were missing, the Typhoon missles and the missing Assault cannon. All I wanted replaced was the weapon bits(hvy bolters and multimeltas) and the gunner/drivers if possible, he was just unable to resolve the issue.

OK, so it looks like this guy has fallen off the edge of the planet. He no longer lives at the address you sent the minis to, claims to have had internet problems, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah!

Let's find him

Plug his callsign (Snowwolf2150) into Google and I get two interesting hits:

Heresy Online Forums
Actually this was an archive from FEB2007 that showed up. Register at the forums and check his profile out. See if he's posted lately and PM him there if things match up.

MySpace Profile updated 03MAY2008 or 05MAR2008. Check out the bottom of his profile. The family owns a business, Sipp Silks (Vincent Sipp from his feedback here on Bartertown)

Running that thru Google, we get Sipp Silks, makers of fine equestrian wear and the name of another member of the Sipps Clan. Along with two more interesting links; this and this .pdf file, where Sipps Silks is listed as a helmet cover manufacturer (pg 15). Looks like we have a match.

Plugging "A Sipp NJ" (mom?) into the white pages Directory gets us Angela R Sipp with a matching address and another phone number.

If you e-mail or call, be polite. Don't threaten anyone or action. Just explain who you are, who you are trying to contact, what you are trying to recover from that person, when you'd like it back and if they have any other PoC (Point of Contact) info they can give you for Vincent. If this fails, then send in the cops with all this info, and let them earn their salaries.

Man, you guys on Bartertown are getting off easy. Some professionals charge $30/hour or $300/day + expenses for skiptracing.
