I'm not sure if he's a thief or not, but at best he'll be sending out my minis more than a month after he received payment from me. His excuse is that he had a funeral to deal with - a month of funeral! Here's the PMs between us:

The "at this point I made a phone call" refers to the 19th (today) after he hadn't responded for several days, not on the 15th when I asked if he had shipped them out.

As this could go either way, I'm not going to waste any breath hypothesizing.

Will do. I wouldn't trade with him again no matter what, but there's a big difference between a thief and someone really bad at shipping and communication. Hopefully he's the latter.

Worst case scenario I sent a certified letter and used a USPS money order so it should be easy to deal with (comparatively) through the post office fraud folks.

Either way he deserves a negative reference. You shouldn't have to chase down someone to fulfill their end of the bargain.

I would, but I'm worried about retaliatory feedback. I don't have many references here, and a negative one against me (undeserved or not) would be worrisome.

Indeed. This is the part when I would recommend you read the BT rules, specifically the one about retaliatory feedback. People who leave undeserved retaliatory feedback sort of get banned. Who determines what's deserved and what's not? BT Admin and Mods.

He paypaled me $80 today. I asked for another $5 to cover paypal fees, the price of the money order, my postage and the cost of the delivery confirmation. I don't feel I should lose anything at all on this deal...

Anyhow, the long and short of it seems to be that he's just a bad trader, not a thief, which is good to know.

Nice. No PayPal account, yet refunds your MO with PayPal. REGARDLESS of the fact that you got your money back, I agree that you are owed the PP fees as well as the MO fees. I don't care if it came out to a single shiny penny, you do not deserve to be out anything. Even if you get the associated fees, you need to leave some kind of feedback to let future traders know what they are getting into.

Quick question, but I just want to clarify that the PayPal info matches up with his own, to discount the faint possibility that he just used a friend's account? It does happen on rare occasion...

Does he have anything to say about this?? He hasnt posted here. Basically he's pretty well finished at Bartertown before he even got started. His first trade is a negative. Who would waste time trading with him??
