On January 23 Brother Ranz claimed to be sending an Infinity Rulebook within the next day or two, I pm'd Feb 3 asking for confirmation of shipping, after not hearing back for almost 2 weeks I sent another PM and was told he lost his Political appointeeship and he was no longer trading just selling and I must have been missed in his communications.

If dealing with Brother Ranz be sure to have goods in hand before paying/sending your side.


I'm missing his very first pm to me.

The Therian stuff is worth about $50 individually @ thewarstore.com, and the Infinity Rulebook is $38. I'd be willing to go straight across, since I got them from the starter box.

this guy (Ranz) is the king of the trade backout. He has initiated contact with me several times and every time has backed out in the 11th hour. I have put him on my personal DNT list.

This is not proof. It could be doctored cut and paste and he may have sent the email. It does sound like a back out but no more. The only thing you lost was a little time. I would not consider it a bad trade but many do...

The opinions on this part of your post have been debated ad nauseum, and I've followed the rules of the site. At best the trader here is discourteous and inconsiderate, at worst a liar and possible scammer. It's been a few weeks since our last communications, where he claimed to have actually sent me MY book (it became mine when he agreed to the terms of the trade), presumably so far in the past he can't recall wether or not he actually sent it. Who is this "they" you speak of?
If the trade started here, then it would have been a valid BTR thread. Read the rules. It even states that you have to have certain proof, and lists complete emails as one of the options for proof.

For the record, anyone accusing him of anything really should start their own threads. The Mod team doesn't like people adding "He ripped me off, too" (or whatever) into an existing thread.
