Not sure what to do

Ok so I finalized a deal with a guy with a decently reliable rating back on the 28th of September, and we agreed to simo-shipping... I'm still waiting on the package... our trade was simply for a handful of bitz, but a trade is a trade is a trade right?

Anyone else have any issues with medium/high rating people not honoring deals?

Note: I haven't included the person's name yet because they haven't been replying to any messages, nor have they made any new messages (inactive perhaps). If I haven't heard from the person within a week, I'll almost definitely be back to give full info to everybody here (not to mention contact the cops, fraud is fraud).

1. this is not the forum for questions. good way to get banned.
2. yes a trade is a trade and if you shipped over a month ago you should have recieved by now (provided you are in the same country)

3 and this is the single most important one. you have posted in this forum so you can not delete or edit your posts.

POST ALL INFORMATION ASAP!!!! if you dont quite quickly you will face a ban from the mods.

Hope it goes well.

Dude...
Go to the rules for posting in the Bad trader section, read them, and comply FAST.

If you do it BEFORE the Mods get around to seeing your post, you might not find yourself suspended or banned.

There is no good reason for not following the rules, and the Admin's have been cracking down HARD on it because of the abundance of posts that don't follow the rules.

Good luck.

Alright here goes.

The person in question is red_starrise. We agreed (across numerous private messages) to a trade involving the little demon dude and book from the Chaos Terminator Lord sprue, and 2 pairs of heavy flamer bitz from the Defiler sprue for a Fire Prism generator bit, and sensor bit.

The last confirmation I recieved from him was sending me his address, and a joking comment about hoping he doesn't mis-write the canadian address. We're not in the same country (US and Canada), but I've never had to wait a month for any form of package from the US, regardless of how slow postal shipping it was sent.

I can probably find the postal receipt and try to get a scan of it. As I said, the PMs are broken, and the info is spread across a number of messages. He never replied stating that he shipped, and he hasn't even read (from what I can tell) the 2 messages I've sent recently (25th, and 27th of Oct).

{Private Messages} (Original contact was made regarding other models but changed directions and began negotiating for the trade above)

If you want the generator piece

That looks like an awesome conversion, we can do a bitz trade no problem, what'd ya have in mind?

(after a few messages describing a number of random bitz, the following message was sent)

*laughs* have I put up anything that piques your interest yet? Also found 2 pair of defiler heavy flamers as well. Have some bits & bobs from chaos termies also.

Do you have some specific bitz from your Chaos Termi Lord (I assume the new plastic one) sprue?

-The little demon holding the sword
-The Tzeetch Staff and Tome/book

The 2 Heavy Flamers and these Chaos bitz if you have them sounds pretty good.

Let me know

Yes, I have the little demon dude & the book, don't have the staff. The heavy flamers would be right under the horned mask on that sprue. I have 2 pair of them.

Yeah that'd be fine, the little demon guy, the book, and the twin H-Flamers for the Prism Generator and the Sensor bit. Sound good? Let me know and I'll post you back with my address. Tag me early enough and I could possibly get to the post office tomorrow with the bitz.

Thanks! Smile

Cool, I'll start packaging those bitz and they'll likely hit the mail tomorrow.

"Never assume anything"
Ok, so I can't assume simo-shipping, but nothing was stated to the difference of such. Even assuming that when he recieved the bitz, he would ship (normal for people with higher rating than the other person), I should have recieved the bitz in question by now.

I believe those messages above clearly state an agreed trade. Either way, red_starrise currently is MIA and unresponsive.

Those msgs look edited. You need to post a proper PM string with date/timestamps or prepare to take a long vacation from BT.

That's definitely the piece I am looking for.

This is what I'm doing:

So that's why I need that specific piece. And just by luck you happen to have it.

Honestly, you should...but typically, it would probably be overlooked (Admin might be miffed at you already, though).

Looks like you did get the important stuff in these... and it's not abnormal to leave out PM's that don't reflect what you're actually trading, so that's not probably going to be an issue.

Good luck with it.

Have you tried his email address?

Hi,

This is Joel's wife Jessica. I am writing for him because he is extremely sick and in the hospital and has been all month. I am trying to take care of trades and such he has been working on and am unsure where to start.

Perhaps it would help if you told me what exactly is supposed to be coming your direction.
Also, was anything shipped to him from you - I got several packages recently.
Perhaps forwarding me any copies of emails or PM's you've had with him.

I will do my best to make this right, I'm hoping he already had it packed up or seperated and all I have to do is ship - if not....well I guess I will have to go digging in that box of his.

So I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I didn't think to check on here until recently.

Please let me know and I will make sure you are taken care of

Thanks for your patience,

Jessica Dibrell
So I might get my parcel sometime before the holidays... I'll update this with any new information as I receive it.

Huh, looking at his posts, it seems that red_starrise has a habit of being extremely delayed in shipping packages and has used a variety of "reasons" to explain it.

He is very slow and I am still waiting on some promised bitz i'll never see, but it took me 3 weeks to "complete" a trade with him that should have taken much less time.

My final update I expect on this topic. I have recently contacted the local police department in Joel's area and I haven't even received any update from them regarding the package that has never arrived.

I suspect that this was a total bust from the beginning. Joel's S.O, Jessica (maybe?) is even refusing to finish the transaction after taking responsibility on herself. I strongly recommend that _ANY_ transaction with Joel/Jessica Dibrell in Klamath Falls be done on _You_ship_first_ basis. Do not ship simultaneous or ship first to these individuals and you'll prevent the same thing happening to you.

IF I ever hear back from the local PD regarding this matter, I'll post the results, although I doubt this transaction will ever be fully resolved.

Their local PD is your START. Not your FINISH.
You need to follow the links in Insidius' sig line and file complaints with the USPS & FBI.
