Hello,

I recently bought a booster case of MTG Born of the Gods boxes from BLUEFALCON. I was in a transitional living situation at the time, so BEFORE I I offered to pay I asked him if I could pay now to hold the box,but PM him where to send the box the next Monday. He agreed saying he would be gone all weekend, so that would be perfect. I sent him where and who to send the box to that Monday (or maybe Tuesday) and did not hear back from him for a bit. Eventually I heard back from him saying he was pulled out to work, and his wife shipped it. He said he would get me the tracking info in a day, but after asking for it for a week it never was sent to me. Eventually I learned he had sent it not just to the wrong address, but the wrong STATE. Even though the mistake was clearly his, he claimed he was not responsible for the mistake and the most he would do is offer me a similar price on another case. Basically he messed up on the address royally, and then washed his hands of it while keeping my $425.

I just got confirmation from my old favorite store where I used to love that someone who I used to live with, who I am now on VERY bad terms with, sold the store some MTG booster boxes today...

After reviewing everything, it appears a mistake was made concerning your shipment. The package was shipped using the address used with your paypal account, instead of the address you provided here on Bartertown. For that I apologize. normally the package would be forwarded to you or returned to me. If it were returned to me I would gladly pay to have it shipped to you again.
However, USPS tracking (9114901159815441147760) shows it was delivered. If your ex-roommate did take the package intended for you that's a federal offense and I would advise you start with local law enforcement in Orlando. I'm willing to sell you another case for the same price but other than that I'm not sure what I can do at this point.

Before I paid you you agreed to ship to the address I would provide you the following week. You did not. This is 100% on you. I did nothing wrong here, and need this money back ASAP.

What is the update?

1) File with PayPal. Do it over the phone, NOT online.
2) Contact your FORMER local police. Speak with a detective. Give him the details. Ask if they can help.
3) Change your PayPal address.

Well, I hope it works out for you, but I would HIGHLY recommend updating your paypal address as soon as possible.

Also, he just replied saying he is seeing what options he has with USOS insurance and police. So he is trying after all it seems.

Wait, he mailed it to YOU. YOUR NAME IS/WAS ON THE BOX, CORRECT?
It got delivered to your old address and you old roommate opened it and took it and sold it right?
That's 3 felonies. Contact the postal inspectors and your local police ASAP. Theft of mail. It had your name on it, not you roommates. The seller has a tracking or D/C number showig it was delivered, right? The LGS can attest that the roommate sold the same type of items.

The threat of going to a FEDERAL Prison as well as several thousand dollars in fines, should make the roomate pay up.
Federal fines, like those issued by the IRS haunt you forever. They can attach any pay, whenever they want for as much as they want.

The only problem with that, kt, is that it seems to take an act of congress to get the USPS to do anything. Over the years, I've seen numerous BTRs where a Mail Fraud complaint was filed and nothing ever happened. Same thing for filing with IC3. Seems like the complaint just gets binned.

Any advice or suggestions on getting the USPS off their duffs after you file?

Same as anywhere else. talk to the boss or the bosses' boss. Keep on them. Just like other police agencies, they're over-worked and under-staffed.
