I just had a transaction with Tech9 - he failed to uphold his side of the deal. He did not get Conf#'s and could not send proof of him sending two items that I paid for. I gave him plenty of time to do so and requested he send me a refund for the second item. Included are the PM's (mod's please alert me if I did something incorrect in this post), my first couple are gone as my sentbox was overfull. I'd appreciate others thoughts on this transaction to find out if I'm out of line. I like to be fair, but having been ripped off by Gester a couple months ago, I don't feel I was out of line.

It's been almost 3 weeks since I sent money and still no Varghar. He didn't show in the mail today. I gave it a few more days since your last reply when you said give it another day and I'll send your money back, and you never responded to my last PM.
So send me back $12 to absolute_d@ and I'll leave positive feedback. If he shows sometime in the future, I will resend you the $12, but since you never sent a conf# or proof of shipping Varghar I am thinking he was never sent.

I'm not sure what the D's are, but everything looks reasonably cut and dried here. I recall the incident with Tech9's account being frozen.

What time was the payment received, if the payment was received? Please note that I have received a PM from Tech9 regarding this matter; he claims that he paid you and you left (-) feedback anyway.

I paid him. Once we agreed on a price he recieved payment immediately. He then took over a week to send one of the two items and failed to provide or get Conf#'s. He did not send reimbursment until after I left him (-) feedback. I gave him plenty of time to respond and do so, but he did not send payment or respond. I posted his (-) feedback and then he sent money, and retaliated by posting (-) feedback to my account. He sent payment about 10 minutes after I posted (-) feedback.

I'm siding with Dman on this. He practically had to beg you for his money back.
How many times did he ask you?

Anybody who reads this should check Tech9 feedback, he has alot of problems shipping. At least 3 others have had slight mishaps in their deals with him.

Dman blackmailed you for a $12 fig? Where is the proof you sent it?

This is one of the problems with the Bad Trader section. Suspicious details cannot be mentioned without an actual bad trade having occured (Don't worry, Lin -- I TOTALLY understand why the rules are the way they are).

If someone (who shall go unnamed) had suspicions about someone else (who shall also go unnamed *ahem*) regarding his total DROP of communication after you tell him that he must ship his terrain before you'll pay him, ther is no way to warn people publicly within the rules.

Again, Lin, I understand... it is just unfortunate.

--and, Tech9... You have no valid place to speak to him in such a manner when you broke your word SO MANY times about when you would refund the $ (with no communication when you didn't).

I'm not gonna get into a pissing match with you Tech9 - but if you look at the time stamps I posted this at the exact same time I left you (-) feedback, I'm covering my ass to make sure that I don't get any sort of bad rep with anyone in BTown, my rep is the most important thing to me here, not the deals I make. I want the whole body of this place with it's many high ranked traders to see that I'm a stand up guy and worth doing business with. Even though you had a lower trade rating I gave you the benefit of the doubt and paid you before I made you ship, and this is what it has come to. Now that you've killed my rating I have to work harder to get it back up so I can be like MM's sig says...lower rating you ship first! It's unfortunate that it's come to this, but with poeple like Steve Jones, and Jason Ticknor and others of low character making things tough for those of us who want to trust others and be trusted by others. I feel that after getting burned by Gester a couple months back and then this being my very next transaction that I have to be a synical untrusting ass to keep from getting ripped off, and I'm not like that nor do I want to be like that.

I am also monitoring this thread with interest. I have had a very successful trade with DMan, so I can vouch for his honesty. I just purchased $110 worth of merchandise from Tech9. I am hoping it arrives exactly as described in a timely manner, and we can just chalk this unfortunate exchange between DMan and Tech9 as an isolated incident.

I will be sure to let everyone know the final disposition of the deal between Tech9 and myself.

Indeed. I remind everyone of Bartertown's policy regarding retaliatory feedback.

Rule #10: ITL intimidation
This has become a problem in recent months - people consistently accused of bad trading retaliating with, or threatening to retaliate with, (multiple) Bad Trader Reports. Effective when we the admins and moderators got tired of this happening, ITL intimidation is hereby a bannable offense.

What qualifies as ITL intimidation?
In its most direct form, ITL intimidation is when someone says something like "If you give me a bad trader report, I'm gonna give you one."
Anything that is not so direct, like "If you don't give me a good trade report, you'll regret it" also qualifies.
If you are not sure, please contact either myself or one of the moderators. The equivalent level of evidence required for filing a bad trade report is necessary: emails with headers, PMs, and so forth.

And remember, it's not just the letter of the law, it's the spirit.

Hrmm, I read the feedback left, I read the posts.

As one of the "Big Three" I have found the following problems.

Tech9-you posted retaliatory feedback claiming "I belive he has ripped my off and black mailed me into sending him back money when he claimed the Items." You have no proof of this and thus have no right to leave said feedback
The second part to this is that you did not refund the money until AFTER the feedback to you was left, therefore it is very evident that it is retaliatory. At the most a Neutral would have been acceptable because you have NO PROOF that any of your claims in that negative feedback are substantiated.
Third you have presented yourself on this topic in a very immature manner... You should have just taken your lumps and admitted to being wrong UNLESS you have some other sort of evidence that would cause a different opinion.

Dman-you have presented several key pieces of evidence that do in fact hold your end of this deal up, you have shown proof of either Tech9's attempted deception or Tech9's laziness. As such you called him out on it.

This sucks. I'm still waiting for half of a High Elf army I bought from Tech9 on March 9. I received the first half on March 26 and haven't gotten anything since then. I just messaged him indicating my dissatisfaction and that I want the minis I paid for very soon. I hope he gets his stuff together as I don't feel like going through the hassle of mail fraud charges, but I guess I'll have to if this keeps up.

Long beard... if you paid via CHECK, then call your bank and do a stop payment. pay the Stop payment fee and consider yourself lucky for only being out that amount of money.
This guy has LOT ogf stuff that is supposed to be going out, and very few people backing him up.

It looks like he's sending HALF of what was traded for to people, and -if so- I know why.

Did you know that, if you buy something from me & pay via paypal, and I (allegedly) ship it in 2 boxes... and you receive one but not the other, you cannot file for a refund via Paypal? See, that is comsidered receiving your shipment by their rules. In this instance, you would not be covered.
