BTR - WEiRD sKeTCH / William Littell

Hey I've been putting this BTR off for quite a while hoping that things would work out. Now my work schedule has calmed down just as my positive thinking has come to an end. Onto the BTR.

Introduction:

On March 28th WEiRD sKeTCH contacted me about the Freebooter's Fate miniatures and rules that I was trying to trade for Malifaux miniatures. We worked out a deal right away for roughly $200 retail of my Freebooter's for his Malifaux.
Originally WEiRD sKeTCH offered to ship first. However after checking his references and seeing a "high enough" rating [54 vs my 78] coupled with many of his trades being for larger lots of Malifaux I [foolishly] suggested we could do simultaneous shipping.
--WEiRD sKeTCH does not respond to me after this point.--
On March 31st I mailed out my package and updated WEiRD sKeTCH with the tracking info I had. [Although I mention the tracking wouldn't work past the canada/us border in my message I was wrong and it worked all the way to him picking it up in GA]
On April 9th Canadapost tracking shows my package has been delivered.
On April 27th I PM WEiRD sKeTCH expressing some concern seeking to reestablish some communication.
--This PM moves from my outbox to sent messages.--
On May 16th I PM WEiRD sKeTCH again asking for some sort of proof that he has made his shipment.
--This PM is still in my outbox--

Hi there!

I'm interested in trading with you.

I have all the models you list below. Which ones do you feel would be of equal value?

All the models I have are complete, unassembled and unpainted.

I look forward to dealing with you.

I am looking at trading away my "starter" or "demo" collection of Freebooter's Fate. Its a fun game and has some superb models yet it is hard to find any opponents in my area. You can find out more about the game at there website or read several great product reviews on the FrontLine Gamer Blog.

http://www.freebooters-fate.de//Home_en.html
http://thefrontlinegamer.blogspot.ca/20 ... .html#more

Rule Book x 2

Game Cards x 2 complete decks [need 1 per game not player]

Pirate starter crew - assembled, bare metal
4 models [Captain Rosso + Curly Ann + Pirate + Cuchillo]

Imperial starter crew - unassembled, bare metal
4 models [Captain Garcia + Teniente of the Armada + 2 Arquebusiers]

Goblin starter crew - assembled, baremetal
5.5 models [Malo Gordab w/ Bajo(.5) + Moby Dugg + Revlugg + Gobli Mariner + Goblin Velero]

Message me if you have any questions of the contents and condition. I can answer you and take any pictures if required.

I would be interesting in trading for Malifaux which has taken off in my area and has slowly won me over to some of its esthetics.
Mostly I am interested in Models from the Guild faction and human Outcasts. Although I will consider all offers.
In no particular order here are a few things I am more interested in.

Lady J - box
Lucious - box/crew
Judge - model
GuildAustringer #1[w/ hat] - model

Viktorias - box/crew/models
Ronin - models
Von Schill - box/crew

Thanks for looking.

Hey I'd love to work out a bulk deal if your interested keeping it roughly retail-for-retail. I plan on holding onto one rule book and 1 deck of cards, otherwise I priced everything out at thewarstore.com, its regularly $200 but their discounted price is $155.

1 rulebook and 1 set of cards
starter crews w/ all stat cards and base inserts
pirates
imperial
goblins

I also found 2 limited run miniatures from there range. One is a monkey on treasure chest #490 and the other is a mermaid on a rock #821. I paid about $10 each and would throw them in. The mermaid is on there site somewhere, not sure of the monkey.

I'd propose trading them all for what I had listed which goes for about the same retail.

Box/Crews
lady j
lucious
viktorias
von schill

models
austringer w/hat
ronin 3 pack

Let me know what you think.

Hey there Dave,

This looks like a good deal to me.

One question, how did you assemble the models? Just super glue? Or did you also pin. Either way I'm sure is fine as long as the glue isn't caked on.

Secondly, I'll need an address to ship to. As I have the lower rating, I'd assume that I'd have to ship first.

Look forward to dealing with you!

I mailed it off this morning. The clerk said up to two weeks and there is a tacking number but it isn't going to update past the border.

Hey man it has been almost a month and still no sign of the package on my end. It could be delayed because of customs or the odd slow spurt at the post office. Can you confirm what day you sent it on and is there an order number I can inquire about?

Hey your package still has not arrived and your lack of communication has me doubting that you actually sent it. Please explain yourself and if you did send something out provide me with some manner of proof. In the mean time I will file a bad trader report and see what I can do through USPS about this mail fraud.

--

Summary:

Well there it is. Should have followed the unofficial rules but thats hindsight for you. Even if it was no fault of WEiRD sKeTCH's I'm incredibly disappointed in his total lack of communication and follow up. I have my doubts about receiving my original stuff or what was promised to me in the deal but at the very least I can be a lesson for others.
It should be noted there is a "WEiRD sKeTCH" on the wyrd/malifaux forums who also lives in GA. I think they may be the same individual which is surprising as it means he is apparently a Wyrd henchman and is lowering the reputation of said individuals.

Thanks for taking the time to look this over I believe everything is as it should be but will make any adjustments as needed.

He is a member on my gaming club forum. Not sure I've ever met him but in the intro thread he claims he is a Lead developer for malifaux and works a Wyrd. I'll send him a pm with a link to this thread.

Thanks. Any help is appreciated although I hope neither of you are viewed in a negative light for bringing this up.

I did send WEiRD sKeTCH another PM linking to this BTR.

I finally posted a BTR regarding our situation. I will wait a little while longer and then post the negative ref.

I sent him a PM on the forum and a link to this thread. I can't tell if he read it but I do know he logged in that evening.

If it's in your outbox, it's unread. if it's in your sent box, it's been read.

I think he meant their Game Club forum. It might have a different set-up, I know ours does.

My game club forum isn't set up like this one is. I can't tell if someone read a PM but I can tell if someone logged into the site by looking at their profile. Anyways no need to derail this thread about how message boards work. If the OP wants to PM me I'll send him a link to that forum so he can try to contact him there.

I'd be SHOCKED if this turns out to be more than a screw up on his part.
WS and I have traded before without problems and, as said, he's a developer (or something) for Wyrd.

Join the Wyrd forums and PM him there (same User ID). I'm sure you'll find it just to be a mistake or unexpected issue.

Good luck.

Eric

Hey guys, quick note: Sketch is no longer with Wyrd Miniatures, not sure if he'll answer any PMs you send him there.

Thanks for the info, Dan.
Is there anything further you can give us on this, or any links you can send our way?

Thanks.

The last time he logged into my gaming club forum was the day after I sent him a PM about this thread. Asked the owner of the LGS about him and he hasn't been by there in the last couple of weeks either.

Hey this is an update post for July 9th 2012

There has been NO direct contact between WEiRD sKeTCH / William Littell and myself.
However, through various intermediary contacts it is safe to assume that he has been made aware of this issue. In fact on June 14th I was told that someone had spoken to Weird and he was dealing with this so I should expect a shipment soon. I have no reason to believe that this individual misled me, and seeing as 3 weeks have passed without any mail I would guess that we were both blown off.

Interesting news about WEiRD sKeTCH / William Littell not being employed with Wyrd miniatures anymore. I can only guess that he was attempting to trade miniatures which were not yet his. Just my hunch so who knows?
