Bad Trader, or perhaps dead trader, godhead, aka Peter Ivey.

Hello everyone,

Hoping that filing a Bad Trader Report will help me resolve or get a response from the first person I've had a negative experience with: godhead.

About 1.5 months ago, we agreed to trade my Heroclix for his Nids.

I started things out by making an offer via PM.

Hey godhead,

Just noticed you were interested in Heroclix. I have TONS of them. Mostly from Origins are sooner though. Are you interested? I'm surprised you didn't notice them in my thread of "HAVES".

I'm looking for DC, primarily. I'd really dig Thanos, if you have him. A load of heroclix would be good...

I can definitely send lots of DC Clix. I'm almost 100% sure I have Thanos and I know I have lots of Hypertime.

What sets in particular or figures are you interested in? Let me know, and I think I would be willing to trade a lot for a lot (some Clix for your Nids). Also, do you still want to do the Dreadnought for the Zoanthrope? Or you more interested in Clix?

I'm ok for dreads...make it worth my while, and you can take your pick of the nids

Hey godhead,

Just wanted to give you a bit of an update.

I've gone through some of my Clix, and I do indeed have Thanos.

I also have a lot of Hypertime, Infinity Challenge and Clobberin' Time.

Here's some to whet your appetite.

Uniques (more to come)
I also know for a fact that I have the Kryptonite Gloves Batman and the Black Superman Uniques for this set.

I also have a decent amount of Sinister and Origins, but someone is giving me a pretty good Cash offer for the Origins stuff and I think they're interested in Sinister too. But I'm not sure what offer I'll get for them. If you're interested, I could send you that list, and of course I have spares that I can send as well.

And small lots of the following; Armor Wars, Supernova, Icons, Unleashed, Xplosion, Mutant Mayhem (mostly LE's), Ulimates, Legacy, Cricital Mass, Fantastic Forces and Collateral Damage.

Which also makes me wonder if you would be interested in doing some Cash for this? Or just trading?

Here's an example of the Sinister stuff I have (since I typed up the list anyways)

REV's
007 R Swordsman
009 V Swordsman
011 E HydroMan
012 V HydroMan

062 E RadioActive Man
076 R Meggan
079 R Bullseye

Uniques
086 Purple Man
096 Black Bolt

Okay, that's all for now. Tell me what sets you're interested in, and I'll make sure I get them typed out by tonight, probably before 10pm EST. I want to go enjoy a beautiful day for the few hrs of daylight I have, then I'll be back to counting clix!

Would you do the whole lot for the Hypertime lot I have?

Remember I have Thanos and also have Darkseid, Desaad and the key Uniques from Hypertime that I've found so far, and if you want them, they'll be in the lot too.
I can also throw in a Vet Batman from Icons. Not sure how good he is, but his fig is AWESOME!
Just let me know, if you want more, I'll continue looking.

P.s. I'll definitely throw in a lot of extra figs for the Tyranid bits too.

Sorry to bother you once more...

Do you want me to ship this Priority? I think that might be the best option since it's probably going to way a bit more than 1 lb. I'm hoping/assuming if I ship mine w. Priority, you'll ship yours the same.

Also, I just want to confirm that I'll be receiving the following..
1x Zoanthrope - 4thed
20x Genestealers - current ed
1x Tyranid Prime Warrior
1x Biovore w/six spore mines - 4thed *gone*
1x Broodlord
1x Lictor 2nd ed
3x Hive Tyrant 2nded
5x Ripper Bases

I'm guessing I'll get everything EXCEPT the Biovore...unless you still have him. If you do, PLEASE send him along as well. Thanks

Biovore is still good...once we started talking deal on him, I took him off the list. Priority is fine.

Hey godhead,

Just wanted to say there was a slight delay. I took it to the post office to ship it Priorty (thinking it would be $15 or so), but it ended up being closer to $30 ($26+). I'm going to try and find a less expensive way to ship if you don't mind. I'll definitely ship it today though, Priority or First Class.

Also, I wanted to suggest that if you send any monetary amount via Paypal (even $1), you can print out a shipping label that includes cheap Delivery Confirmation. If we both send each other a dollar or something, it would make the shipping labels/Delivery confirmation easier and cheaper I beleive. if it's not worth the trouble though, we can just do it the old fashioned way.-

Okay, just wanted to let you know that I sent it out today via First Class. It was just under $9, much better than $27. Couldn't get delivery confirmation though. I hope you can find a reasonable shipping cost as well, just let me know when you recieve it, and when you send your stuff out.

Hello again godhead,

Seems you were off Bartertown for awhile. In the time you were gone, I haven't recieved my package, so I'm still a bit concerned. Can you please take a few moments to answer these questions for me.

1. Did you recieve the Heroclix I sent??
2. Did you send the package of Nids that you agreed to trade?
3. Is there any particular details or circumstances I should know about? If you haven't sent them, that's fine. If you have, please tell me when you sent them. I'm beginning to get very concerned because nobody has seen the package yet.
--------------------------------------------

Since the last PM, I've sent at least 2 PM's and 2 Emails in a desperate attempt to elicit some response! I don't care about shipping delays or anything that may have come up and caused him to be too busy to send. All I'm asking for is a simple response in regards to the status of our trade and when, if at all, he plans on shipping my items.

I don't think he's a bad trader per se, but seriously, I've been more than patient and have yet to receive ANY form of communication. It's been just over a month. I hope by posting this, we can work to resolve this issue. I have a feeling he won't be trading on Bartertown for awhile, since it's been ages since he logged on. It shows that he hasn't read the LAST PM that I sent, but it appears he's read the first two that I sent since his last response, inquiring about the status of our trade. He hasn't taken the time or effort to make any attempt at updating me on anything, and therefore I feel I have no choice but to file a BTR.
Other than ceasing to exist, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to respond, at least to the 2 emails I sent.

That's all for now,
Barnabas Boehler

That sounds pretty bad.

I'm a bit curious why you didn't use delivery confirmation for the package. USPS offers it on both First Class and Priority.
Delivery confirmation is one of the best tools for protecting yourself in these cases.
That way you know when the package was delivered, and it can be tracted if there are problems.
You should also look into flat rate shipping with USPS.

Also, If you have his address you should try reverse look-up in the interwebs. It should provide you with a phone # that you could call.

Hope everything works out for you!

Ah, I didn't catch that. DZ had blocked out the mailing address, but I assumed (incorrectly) that it was a USA-USA transaction.
DZ can still try reverse look-up though.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the responses Blackspade and Porkuslime,

Godhead is indeed located in Canada. I would have LOVED to get DC for the package, but due to the restrictions on DC #'s only being available for Priority, which would have cost almost $30, I decided it wasn't worth it.

I was wondering if there is a way to Edit/Cut-down some of the excessive lists of Clix I had sent in Pm's that were no way part of the trade or relevant to the matter at hand, but I can't seem to find the edit button.
I was hoping to do this to make it easier for everyone to sift through the information.

I have a few extra details. The Address I gave him was actually my parent's address. They live only about 20-30 min from where I live. I've also checked with them numerous times to see if the package had arrived and they tell me it hasn't.
Regardless, it gives no explanation for the complete lack of communication from godhead. I could understand if he happened to be done trading/gaming and wasn't aware of recieving pm's on Bartertown. But considering I've sent him numerous personal emails, and have yet to recieve so much as a "I'm Busy" or "I sent it" or ANY Sign of life that could notify me of his status

You can't edit a BTR. Only a mod can.

Just curious, were the flat rate boxes through USPS that expensive to send to Canada, or were you using one of your own boxes?
$30 seems out of sight for shipping.

Did you try using his address to look up his Phone #?

Flat rate is only for domestic, USA-USA, shipping.

Yes, like Kturock said, Flat rate doesn't really seem affordable when sent to another country. I actually used the smallest Flatrate box I could find and that's when the price was almost $30. I was expecting it to be more than the box would be in the USA ($10 box I believe), perhaps $15 or so, which I would have gladly paid, but when the person told me it was around $26, I declined.

I went home, found a small brown box and stuff the Clix in there with some packaging. Total came to around $9.

SO, how can I go about finding his phone number or back-tracking it via the postal service? The only thing I can think to do right now is go to the post office and see if they're perhaps holding a package that for some reason may have not been deliverable without a signature or something crazy like that.

Is tracking his phone number down and calling him really a good idea? Sounds kinda stalkerish. I was contemplating sending him a letter, but if he's intentionally ignoring my emails, ignoring a written letter won't be that much harder.

There is a Priority Mail for some/most international countries, but there is no 'Flat Rate' pricing. Hense, the $30 price.

OP- Run your customs # through USPS to confirm it's been handed off already. Then the customs # to try to track in the Canadian postal service. I did that with Royal Mail to USPS and atleast knew there was some kind of movement, which was better than nothing. As mentioned though, it might not have been scanned at all...

This is the reason that I usually use UPS for shipping to Canada. You get tracking that works across any international border, but you do pay more for it. You also get $100 insurance standard.

As far as looking up a phone number for godhead in Canada, I found a site that might help: http://www.canada411.ca/

Hope this helps a little.

@Darkzephyr: Did you fill out a customs form? If so, did you put the actual value of the heroclix models? If so, it may be held up in customs awaiting the receiver to pay import duties.

Hmm,

Well, I don't recall if I put a value on the Customs forum or not. I guess I'll have to go on Tuesday to check that out. I hope the post office can find the info because I'm really not sure what happened to the copy of the customs form that I received (if I even got one). I suppose it's also possible the same thing happened to the package he sent to me.

Still, that doesn't explain the lack of communication on godhead's part. So what happens after I've checked the Customs info. Should I look up his number.
