Made a deal for some KV2s, sent the money, nice emails, then nothing. No tanks, no replies to emails, the phone number he gave me was always busy and is now disconnected and his personal phone number is unlisted.

Don't take this bad, but read the rules about the BT section. You need to post all the PM's and or Emails. Otherwise one of the admins will nuke the thread.

OK, here is the chain from the start to when I tell him I'm not interested in some other things he has and, no, I don't want to come to Rolla and do a hand transfer, so please just ship the tanks.
That's quite a lot of information
). I'll have to take some time and go over it.
You mentioned your Tiger's are Bandai. Does that mean your KV's are the same? In other words, what exactly is the scale?
My funds are limited as well, which is why I only wanted the KVs, so just send those along for now.
In general, March is possible.

Mr. Bob,
I wonder if by an off chance you know of a Larry Freeman in your area. there is a shop-I have no recollection of its name nor if it is still in operation- it is/was located about a mile or so from a Chuck-E-cheese in St. Peters(well maybe O'Fallon----this is the chap that printed the game Combat Command which is a decent WWII game- good features are troop skill/training factors- and he had probably the better incorporation ofthe air arm into the limited battlefield we all fight on----see everyone thinks and wants to have that flight of Tyhpoons and Thunderbolts at there command and evry "turn". I would very much be open to a game with you and our group would love to have anadditional commander. you really have to start from the ground up- we used to have a random trooper selected-a white dot painted on the bottom-and at no point will anyone look underneath-you survive we bump you to SGT. that took for ever. I am a Luetnant have 34 men under command--16 men attached as support-9 with the 2 81mm mortars, 7 with the 2 MG-42s. have only 2 Sdkfz 222 w/20mm turrets left, 2 sdkfz 232 with 20mm turrets left, 2 sdkfz 234 with the 75mm L/24 the short 75 from the Panzer4 F1 series to give you and idea. men are transported via Motorcycles with and with out combinations sidecars. a schwimwagen, 2 kubels, a steyr feild car(2), a Horch and a Krupp Protz---as you guessed it after a few actions and some losses and no replacements I got what I could take. Ovwerall I still get missions as if I were a Kampfgruppe. can't leave out the 2 Panzer IIFs---started with 5 down to 2. You would be suprised if you pour enough 20mm rounds at a T-34 you can break the crew cover them with a smoke round from the 234's 75 and you can get results. Soviets know I will fire cannister from that 75mm so I have taken my share of prisoners. glad Peter pig makes capitulating Rissians as those models have been broken out on 4 different situations. If you you would be interested all we ask is to pick---German or Russian. Germans run 6th panzer division and we are in 1943 armee Gruppe Don(Sud) which ever you want to call it. Sovites are 57th, 62nd, 64th, and 5th Guards tank army.
Got to supply your own troops, 10-15 of your own dead or wounded models--these are from peter pig-one set of 3 enemy dead models, for the group(but you keep)2-3 defensive emplacements-you know the type sand bag wall, machinegun nests, artillery psitions bunkers-you can make these or buy them we don't care as long as they are scale and fit well with the Grimmy pit of Russia and eventually Germany/Poland and Prussia. We fight and will a lot af battles but on the strategic map we get pushed back.
On a really good plus us top 2 are doing a little rules tweaking---we are never out to win and take the victory and glory to go with it-----we want a realistic simulation of what we would truly hope to be a representation of Infantry/ground combat from the greatest era of Human warfare.
St. Peters is by my map around 112 miles from Rolla. Shame The Hobby Shop on Hampton Ave closed down.
AND----to fill you in the scale we play in is 15mm---you say you have tanks in this scale so you may have your self a starting foundation. Everyone wants to be the German Tank commander-yep lead youself a company(32) of Tigers. if German is your choice the best We could do is a Platoon commander35-40 soldaten---make you a Sgt/border line LT. we start em in the infantry. I always ASSUME everyone goes German but it would be justas well if you wanted to go Soviet---here you begin with a company---try NKVD, Sailors, all Conscripts(great coat models just scream Conscript to us). We never make any kind of CLUB dues and all the little extras like the dead guys, defensive terrain, and houses you get are yours not pooled to a group--so If you were to move on(thankfully no one has done so yet-with the exception of the 2 South Korean Comrades who just had to go a graduate from the University) and to let you know we are gearing up for the next gaming Campaign in March-so everyone has time to paint up- a few special terrrain peices I have to build(part of the Panter position north of Rostov. So If you would like to toss out some questions feel more tahn free as I am always open to new ideas and new players. I would even take time out if you need someone to show you a few painting tricks to get 15mm troops done in only a few settings and if you are married really try to get your better half involved--I have and she is a menace. she started with T-26s----held her own against some Pzr-III(she had no clue-great quality for a soviet commander--many lucky rolls and Hoth's 29th motorised was fleeing back into the Kalmuyk Steppe---all from her flanking company(4 platoons of 6 each T-26(45mm), 4 T-26 platoon leaders(radios), 3 support OT-26 (Flamethrower version) , 3 T-34/76 as company commanders-2 were regular and one had a commisar. these antiques(speaking of T-26s) routed and caused more damage than the 2 attacking companies of T-34s(what was cool about the attacking T-34s was the turrets were painted dark green--hulls were unpainted-not bare pewter but looked like they came from the factory to meet 4th panzer army in Dec 1942. since then she has been addicted-like myself---I even got away with getting here the Maria Ocktobiria(whatevewr her name is) model from battle front as a X-Mas gift for her. We have decided that for this March 1943 deal she will have a company(10) "Prototype" T-34/85s---even thogh they don't make an appearance until after KURSK.
If you have any of those 15mm Items you would like to trade for the T-34s I still have in 28mm I would be open to that. If you wanted to play Soviet with us I would take German or vice-verse. and If you have been a good boy this year and the Price is right and I cab wrangle up some pics----I have a tremendously well painted King Tiger and Hetzer--both Bandai-both in ambush paint scheme- hatches are removeable so you can see interior detail---engines, turret platform-drivers and hull gunner/radio op seats, ammo storage---absolutely beautiful models- it would pain me to sell these but the winter was cruel to me-both of my cars went out of action-1 is fixed but the other needs a CV joint relaced-ice got in the damaged boot and broke the CV craddle/cage----These are $85 each and since you live an hour and 30 minutes away maybe we could meet--so you these models-bring your 15mm stuff and I could hand deliver the KVs to you
how about this-------give me a call 573-364-0929 about 11:30in the am before noon and we can speak in person-voice to voice.

Mr. Bob,
I wonder if by an off chance you know of a Larry Freeman in your area. there is a shop-I have no recollection of its name nor if it is still in operation- it is/was located about a mile or so from a Chuck-E-cheese in St. Peters(well maybe O'Fallon----this is the chap that printed the game Combat Command which is a decent WWII game- good features are troop skill/training factors- and he had probably the better incorporation ofthe air arm into the limited battlefield
The second on February 4th
Ron,
Have you sent the tanks yet? I'm putting together a scenario for the end of the month and I need them.
Bob

I called the number listed between 11:30 and noon several times and each time got that 'off the hook' busy signal. Like I said, the last call I got the 'this phone has been disconnected'. So, what can I say. Screwed again just about sums it up for me.
Bob
Hey there! For some reason the address in this bad trader report set of bells and whistles.
Crystal Henry, another bad trader is also from there and, as I recall, was someone using a number of different user accounts.
A return visit???

Woa...I just saw this
Danger Danger will Robinson.....
I had some dealings with a person in Rolla MO.
Here are the names he/she used.
Crystal Henry
Jonathan Henry
Cole Henry
Edward Henry
Edward Cole
I have even caught him on bartertown from time to time trying the same thing. He gets your money, then 2-3 months later and a visit by the police department and you get your stuff. I got his the following excuses: wife/gf was pregnant, sick, in the hospital. The really funny part was when a child at the house answered the phone and explained that her moms boyfriend was the one doing all this stuff, and she wished that people would stop calling and bothering her mom.
Good luck, and stay on top of this guy.
Here is the Rolla Police department.

Ask for Sgt. Mayfield at the Rolla PD. This will not be his first time dealing with these people.
PS: check out the last time he tried to sell the tanks.

Comments: I had a bad experience with Jonathan Henry of Columbia, MO. He has recently posted an ad on 1/13/2003 selling T-34 tanks that resembles the ad that I was taken by last September 2002. I attempted to contact Mr. Henry via Email and certified USPS to the address I sent my check to. Jonathan never responded to any of my communication efforts, but cashed my check and never sent my T-34 tank. His prior Email is JCHENRY47@hotmail.com Look for my feedback on that address to see the whole story. DO NOT TRADE OR BUY FROM JONATHAN HENRY of Columbia, MO.
