Stonefox: 2.5 Months w/out figs = Bad Trader

Post by nathonicus »

Ok, I hate to do this but my postal delivery confirmation number shows my package being delivered to this guy almost 3 weeks ago. Since that time I have heard nothing and my messages go unread. I don't have an email address or alternate way of getting ahold of this guy. I suppose I could mail. Either he just doesn't care now that he got my fig, or he died and can't get to a computer. Here's the correspondence. (Oldest post at the bottom.)

If somebody has an email for this guy, it would be great. Maybe he just forgot and hasn't logged on in 3 weeks, but right now I feel totally ripped off.

Thanks,

(note: I have written several messages after this, but they have gone unanswered and unread.)

Hi there,

I just checked my postage log and the delivery confirmation shows your package with Celestine was delivered on the 6th. Did you get it ok?

Have you shipped the firewarriors and drones yet?

My address once again:

Bellingham, WA 98226

Thanks and best Regards,

Nathan

Hi,

Shipping right now. I didn't have your email or I would have emailed you this, but here's a link to the postage delivery confirmation number. Went 1st class, so I'm thinking five or six days? I don't really know. The figure is packed in bubble wrap with cushion, with the cape and pack separate. I've done my best to make sure the sword arm stays intact.

PS. I forgot to say that I would prefer pulse rifle warriors if you have them.

Cheers,

Nathan

The delivery confirmation info:

A package was shipped to you on 11/03/2006 via U.S. Postal Service First Class to the following address:

John Rumingan

The following optional services were used: None

John--

Sounds great. I'll grab celestine from my game room tonight and pop her in the mail tomorrow from work. (Such an inelegant way for a noble figure to travel.)

in exchange for

1 celestine model, painted w/ plasma pistol and unpainted cape/halo.

Sounds like a deal to me.
If you forward me your address I'll ship first if you like, otherwise we could do it simultaneously.

Is first class ok? I can also go priority if you need them faster.

Let me know,

Hey there, Firewarriors are assembled and primed. If that's still OK with you, I'd prefer if you send first. First class is fine. Keeps the costs low.

Hey there. Celestine's worth $20 and I have on-sprue drones and primed firewarriors. Are you willing to take 6 of each?

Hey there. Looking for that St. Celestine. I have most of the items from your list, but I'm willing to trade:

Ion cannon bits
Drones, some primed, some painted
Firewarriors

for it.

Doing a quick Google Search for ""John Rumingan" VA" yields these results.

On those forums, they refer to a user named StoneFox by the name "John" several times.

Calling up a list of his posts, please note the second Topic, where StoneFox admits to be being a "...Batertown whore..." and the date on his most recent post 14NOV06

And if you look at the cached copy, you find that StoneFox has change his sig block to "Tyranids Like Cake" from "John Rumingan: Pessimist Tau Player".

Sounds like a start for you to find him again.

Good Luck!!

I ve bought some stuff from him before I believe it was SM hero of some sort he got it to me just fine no problems at all and kept his line of communication with me. As other have pointed out to me this isnt ebay some people do take there time and just have issues in life that prevent them from responding. But then again 3 weeks is a long time :(

Nathonicus,

I want to start by saying that you ARE justified in posting this. I might have done so, myself, in your situation.

For what it's worth, though... He has a 50 rating. That's no small cheese. Don't give up hope yet. I don't think I've ever seen a trader with that high of a rating rip someone off yet.

Eric
Lower rating? You ship first.

Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Hi--

Looks like he was just not around for awhile. I've gotten communication and figs should be on the way. Looks like he just overlooked my trade...

Thanks everyone for your help. This should be resolved and everything good once the figs arrive.

This wasn't really a big trade or anything, but it did seem important to post this just on principle; where else in the world is their an honor-system exchange like this? I really appreciate everyone who is keeping it going.

I wonder if this falls in to the "If you know you are vacationing, etc..." I hope its just a matter of miscommunication. Hate to see bad things happen. I am a lover not a fighter...

"Okay, my package was delivered to this guy in November. The only thing I've gotten since then, and that only thanks to the interecession of a kind B-town member is this communication:

Hi,

On Monday it will be 2 weeks since my package was delivered to you. I have in that time recieved no contact from you, and certainly not seen the minis. Please let me know if there are extenuating circumstances. Please let me know anything! This silence is frustrating.

Best regards,

Hi there. Sorry to be late, but I only regulary check Btown if I'm doing a lot of trades at the time. I thought I sent out your package with my last batch. My apologies. I found it in some forgotten corner. Mind if you send me your address again? Apparently I haven't even given you a positive ref yet.

I did get a positive ref, but I did not receive a reply to my message sending him my address again, a confirmation that the items had shipped, or anything else."

For the record, my reply to him was:

"Hey, no worries. Thanks for getting back.

My address is:

Nathan Lough
c/o Wesspur
1680 Baker Creek Place
Bellingham, WA 98226

I'll update your refs once all is said and done.

Cheers,"

Which he received. In my out-box there is still this message waiting to be read:

Hi,

Thanks for the nice feedback. Have you had a chance to send the figures yet? I know the mail is slow around the holidays, but I haven't yet seen them.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas."

This last message is still unread.

I know things are busy around the holidays, but seriously, my package was delivered to him on November 6th. This exceeds my patience. He may be the nicest guy in the world, but this type of negligence becomes disrespectful when dealing with an honor-system trading site.
