How are Bartertown Threads sorted?

Can anyone tell me how the threads here sorted? Most places put the most recently posted-in threads at the top of page 1, but I don't see that here. In fact, I really can't tell how the threads here are sorted. It makes it kind of hard to see who's got stuff for sale.

They are sorted by the ORIGINAL post date. The problem we ran into was that people were post bumping where you reply to your own post or you edit your own post and it goes back up to the top.

woot 400th post.
but seriously why would you bump your post? why not just copy and paste a lits and make a new post? if you dont get enough offers by posting once a week, sell it on ebay then, because apparently no-one want the crap they got

I just repost as well, but I do have to say that sometimes it takes a couple of go arounds and some haggling to get rid of some items.
I had an airbrush list for like 4 months and finally someone's broke and they needed another one. I got rid of an item sitting in my garage and in return recieved a couple of items to add to my Space Marines.
One question - the new rules of the road say 1 post per forum per week. Any chance that someone can delete their entire post and then re-list with changes sooner? I am not talking about everytime it goes to the second page, but when I do edits, it doesn't show up with the fun orange flag next to it so people can see there are changes. I don't care what page it is on, if they can see there are changes, then I am happy. Edits just sit there. Any suggestions?
Thanks for all the work - the site has really gotten stronger, more user friendly and of course more reliable - all of us appreciate all the mods and creators do for the minature gaming community?

took me three posts before i finialy got a bite on the BFG fleet i have
so i know its anoying to let it get to the second or third page then delete it
just to repost and add more items but it keeps the board somewhat clean

Linrandir the policy man is going to chime in here in a minute and say I'm wrong, but I don't see a problem with posting more than once a week AS LONG AS it's different stuff. If you sell out and 90% of your ad is completely new stuff, then I'd post an entire new ad. Personally, I just sold a bunch of Void stuff in the misc futuristic ( lots still for sale ), I had pictures of all of it, I don't know what half this crap is, nor do most people looking at the ad so I chose to post 4 separate ads ( 1 for each army I had ). Maybe that wasn't the best thing to do, maybe I should have posted 1 ad and replied to it 3 times... I dunno.

Raaar! You're wrrooong!
No, just kidding. You can do that - I think I mentioned that as an addendum somewhere...
You may update your ad as you see fit provided your purpose is not to attempt any form of bumping.
Updating an ad is not bumping if there have been changes made to the inventory or pricing presented in the ad. It is bumping if "hey i still have this stuff available" is all that's written, or something to that extent.
Ah, there. I hope this clears up the question.
Thanks

Thanks for the clarification. I thought I would be alright, but since I complain about every third listing

LOL!! I thought I better follow the rules to the letter so I can't be called a hypocrite.
Long Live Bartertown!!!
