Recognize these pre-slotta Citadel minis?

Post by MagickalMemories »

Hi.
I was wondering if anyone KNEW what these old citadel minis are.
They look like they might be out of the "Fantasy Tribes" series (one or 2 have a big FT on the bottom of the base), but the only site I know of with pics is SOLegends... and I couldn't find pictures of these models ANYPLACE on there.

Thanks.

Why?

Why do you say that?
They don't look Ral Partha, they are modeled in the Citadel "style" of Orks. Especially, if you look at the sneering moons on the shields and stuff. Looks like early "Bad Moon" influence to me. It's just like the Bad Moon Orks' moon.

In addition, if you go to Stuff of Legends and look at the early pre-slotta stuff, the bases are modeled exactly as these are... just a blob pf base, with no decoration.

I'd really like to see any links you may have or anything that I could use as reference.

Thanks for the input.

I'm not to familiar with their fantasy releases of the time, but those look (especially in the face) allmost identical to the old marauder line of space orcs.

I recognize 2 of them as from Citadel's Fantasy Tribe Orcs, particularly the one with a crested helm at top left of the second photo, and the one several figs over from him in the same photo (red pupils, broken spear). Ral Partha eventually carried them as well and that may be why Taggerd guessed Ral Partha. Some of the others look like early Citadel to me, too. And the bases were indeed molded onto the figs...
