Do you want your own gamer web site?

I've been thinking about setting up a new site which will allow everyone to have their own mini web site (blog). With this you can:

1. Have a permanent spot for your signature.
2. Post pictures of all of your stuff, for sale and a gallery of what you've done. Photosuckit seems to take forever to load and they've got popups on top of banners and it's only going to get worse.
3. Post any fluff, fun stuff, etc.

Heck, use it for whatever you want. No web/HTML/programming experience required.

What do you think?

~~~The idea sounds nice...but there are plenty of places where we can do that without tying up any more of your valuable time...yahoo 360, myspace, whatever...we can post our own galleries & such.
Thanks for the offer...but I think that we take up enough of your life already just keeping the normal B-Town routine going.
While I agree with Camlost about you time and effort, I would love this. I use a macintosh and I know there are things out there to help me with a website, but I just don't want to take the time and energy. I am no programer and unless it holds my hand through the process, I am in trouble. I can use Indesign and Photoshop like no one's business, but all the html, .com, /// crap drives me crazy.
If you could set something up that was as user friendly as Bartertown and I could post photos of my army, write about my games and pretty much dedicate it to anything and everything in my 40K world, that would be absolutely awesome. I would even pay a little each month to get access to something like that.
Thanks
I don't have any problems with photobucket... No pop-ups either. As for loading their site it seems just as fast as any other. Here is a question to you Adam. I've used up to 150 pictures in my btown advertisements. (Although that is not the case now) 300+ if you include pictures used on warhammer40k.com. If uploaded to this other server, would they be available to hotlink to other sites outside the bartertown server? Don't forget that most current btown members already have dedicated themselves to maj, imageshi... and photobucket. That means spending time (even hours) transferring those photographs. IMO the last thing I want is to be using two image providers. So a transfer would be needed. It's a good idea but as for me, I probably wouldn't use it much. A good application for new members though. It would encourage people to actually post pictures for once. We all know no one can begin to count how many "pro" (LoL) painted armies are posted here for sale with no pictures.
at the moment, i don't have anyplace to store my pics. i have to email them, to propective buyers/traders. i can't seem to get any pics here to work.
the site would have to load at least as easy as ebay.
the only problem i see, is because it's linked to b-town, people trying to trade on the blog space.
I personally like the idea but I do agree with some of the others that there are sites that allow this sort of thing out there. Adam has a point, however, that many of those sites have banners and popups. Sure we could go to those other sites and do the same thing but to do it here would inherently increase the value of Bartertown to the users and that's good for all of us. There might be a thousand Bartertowners with cool Myspace pages but I don't know of a single one...if they were associated with this site I'm sure I'd spend time browsing everyone's cool pics and stories. I know I've often thought it would be cool to have a "webpage" not on the scale of whole sites but for just the sorts of things Adam describes for army shots and fluff ideas, so I think it would be cool. That's my two cents.
I have tried doing that, and all the hosts have been quite disappointing. If you can do it, I would be very happy, and if the UI is good, I would even PayPal you some $$$ to help lighten the load.
If you have ever traded with me, you will know how tight-pocketed I am. ;)
