I want people's opinions as to what I should do in regards to this mess. I call it a mess as it is my first trade, and I didn't think my first trade would be as craptacular as this has been. I have proof that he has received my figs. They were received 10 days ago. I have yet to hear from this gentleman since May 2nd. I have no comprehension as to why this is happening, if this IS a simple mistake then, I have said in the past and I will say it again, I fully rescind all derogatory comments. I am not a punk kid (no offense young ones) just looking to cause trouble, I am a responsible adult with a wife, a kid, a job and a hobby. I take ALL seriously. So, as I said, I wish to know what the best course of action would be. For example, do I post him as a bad trader? Do I call him as I have his phone number (haven't yet as I do respect people's privacy TO A POINT)? Do I sit and wait? People, the floor is yours...

There are some details to know so I can help you.
I assume you are from canada. Was the second party from the U.S or UK? I have waited up to three months to get packages sent to me from canada. Granted, the user is not communicating but that doesn't mean the package has not been sent.
Are all the PMs you sent in your Sent Box or Out Box?
If Sent Box, that means the user has opened his In Box. This does not mean he has read them however.
If Out Box, that means the user may have logged on bartertown but has not opened his In Box.
Look at his references. Do any of them date at least one week after your transaction? If yes, that means he is still trading and may be ignoring you.

Look at his references. Do any of them date at least one week after your transaction? (Or confirmation of completed delivery) If yes, that means he is still trading and may be ignoring you. Of course this may also mean your package is still en route and the guy is too lazy to send you PMs. I know it sounds odd, but I have experienced this personally. 3 weeks of read PMs and no replies. Several transactions completed after the sealed deal with other users.
Is this one message in your OutBox the most current PM? A person can go into his In Box and read specific messages in any order. Your 'pending' message may or may not be the most current.

call!!!
Its clearly getting to you.
Pick up the phone and call him. Yes, its an international call, but if you are upset enough to start 3 threads on the same trade, perhaps its time to call.
At this point, I cannot imagine him being worried about privacy issues.
I would be as professional as possible on the phone and just say you are checking in.
If his response is no good, then IMO, you should start a thread in the bad trader forum with the caveat that you will remove it once the transaction is resolved. I would also refrain from leaving negative feedback until you wait at least 4-6 weeks from when he recieved your package.
We all know that shipping to Canada can be difficult. I have had a package take nearly a month and it was small and I labeled the customs forms the correct way. It just took time. Sucks!!!
Keep us imformed.

Re: call!!!
Indeed. Rule #1 in my books is not getting hot headed. Wait a bare minimum of 4 weeks for any kind of international shipping. In situations like this, it often can get annoying to keep sending PMs. A phone call isn't a bad idea. With something like this, I think it is proper to send a friendly reminder (PM) once a week. Honestly, any more can get really annoying. Hounding someone will not help you in any way at this stage.ekister wrote:
