Hey everyone!

Lately I have been getting this error while surfing Btown

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Too many connections [1040]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

It happens at the most annoying times and I have to reload a couple of times before it goes through. Is anyone else getting this?

When you get error messages like that, copy the contents, and shoot an e-mail to admin @ bartertown.com.

Despite being an admin, I don't frequent the forum terribly often(perhaps once a week), and when I do, I may not see these errors. Sending an e-mail to the admin account reaches me quickly and easily, and I can jump on these issues before they get too bad, usually within a few hours of their occurring.

I've been working with our host to ferret out the source of the server's issues, and we're trying some new settings for a bit, to see if they help. Please take extra note of the server's performance over the next, oh, two weeks or so.

i four have been getting an error message. i just close windows imploder and start over again. happens about once a day. i have noticed the site being slow some times.

i can deal with slow site but the error message is upsetting. yes i know its free to join and i shouldnt complain but the line has to be drawn somewhere.

So are you the admin we should message when problems like this occur?

Yes. If you get an error message, either send a PM, or send an e-mail to the admin @ bartertown.com address, and I'll get to the issue ASAP.

All hate mail should go to my secretary, MagikalMemories, and any rotten fruit should be deposited in Porkuslime's feeding through rather than thrown at me.

MM told me those were becasue the the servers were busy and that paying for a memebership would help buy more/bigger servers to not have the problem.

I'll pay for membership when we can be assured of no outages, not to hope not to have them.

You're welcome to that. Unfortunately, for a free site that makes about enough to cover it's bills, we can only invest so much.
