Is there an issue with private messages being delayed?

I've had one in my outbox for 2 days and it didn't go so I deleted and retried. Still no luck.

Messages stay in your out box until the get read, then they go to your sent box.

I currently have 2 in my out box. 1 almost 3 years old, since 12/2008.
