PM Notifications should now be up and running. As
Lin's mentioned, be sure to add our new e-mail bot address to your "always allow" or white lists:
bartertown.notifier [at] gmail.com.
Rather than have to deal with phpBB's clunky e-mail system (which depends on teh host having an e-mail service), we're pushing e-mails out via gmail. This gives us the stability of the internet cloud, and makes the board more portable should we have to change hosts again in the future.
Also, I've fixed the board time issue. Somehow, the board's time was set correctly, but the timezone was incorrect. In order to fix this, I had to send the board about 5 hours into the past. So, that means anyone who made a post in the past 5 hours couldn't make a new one, since they're making a post before their previous one, and that just really freaked out the software. It was actually quite funny.
That side-effect, however, has too been fixed, so hopefully now everything's functioning as it should be.
Until the board time reaches 2am UTC, several board-wide functions may still not be working. Oaf, your clear all read function is one example. The board compares your last active time to the time the posts were created in order to find out what's new. When you click all clear, you set your recent activity to the current time. Since the current time is still 4 hours before those posts were "created", they will continue to appear new until the board can set your time to the current time which would have to be after the posts were "created". In essence, The board's freaking the $%&@ out, so please be patient with it for another 5 hours or so, and everything should return to normal.
Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease, and for that I apologize. At least it's only for a little while.
Please hold off reporting any issues until tomorrow, after the time-paradox has stopped confusing the board software.
