IFL Charity Tournament and Auction, asking for auction donat

Post by don_mondo »

Our club, the Iron Fist League, is hosting it's annual charity tournament/silent auction for Race for the Cure on March 19, 2011. Last year we raised over $1400 with this event. Obviously, that could be hard to beat. Which is why I'm reaching out to my fellow Bartertown members and others asking for their help. Got an old model or kit that you're never going to get around to using, we'll take it off your hands and put it in the silent auction. Painted, unpainted, built, unbuilt, I don't care. We'll take anything.

Links to the event here:

and here:

Separate thread for auction donations here:

I'll post items donated and donor's name/handle in this thread as items arrive. Contact me via PM for delivery details. If desired, I'll put together receipts as well, for that good old charitable deduction on your taxes. And of course, once the dust settles, I'll post how it all turns out.

In addition, the IFL will be walking as a team in the DC area Race for the Cure. If you'd like to join us, here's a link to thread containing that info:

On a personal note, my father died of cancer, as did my paternal grandfather. I guess that tells you that this event is important to me personally. Thanks for reading, look forward to hearing from you.

Can i get a tax receipt for my donation?
1. GW retail doesn't equal value if you intend to sell me assembled/stripped/primed/painted items. These all devalue them and anyone can get 20-30% of GW retail.
2. If I take the time to write you please be kind enough to at least tell me no or not interested.
3. Lowest reference ships first
4. I live in Canada

Yep, sure can. Provide me with an estimated value of the donation (include shipping), and I'll make out a receipt for you.

And today I receive another box full of donated miniatures from Ironwarriors83. Complete force of Warmachine Mercenaries, looks like. Cody, thank you, thank you, and thank you.

Oh yeah, and I keep forgetting to mention him, mostly cause he's sooooo annoying  In other words, I actually know this guy.

Thanks Matt (MattHoell, fairly new bartertowner), I know you're donating something, and I'm outting you.

Don't really have anything donate worthy, so I'm donating a gift certificate from the Game Vault. Not much, but its something :-D

Something is always better than nothing! And it's for a fantastic cause! Always remember, even if it's a small difference, that's all it takes in this case, for someone to have a chance to live, and you contributed to that, and that's a very honorable gesture :)
Lower Rating? You ship first unless we agree otherwise regardless whether it's a sale or trade of miniatures. Feedback is there for a reason. This ISN'T Ebay, your Ebay Refs DON'T matter here, this is Bartertown! If your feedback is significantly lower, I expect you to ship first, even if I'm buying- Money carries greater risks than minis: I can't buy groceries with a box of Tac Marines! Offers are good for 24 Hours, otherwise void.

Well, it wasn't much, but I don't keep a lot of extra around any more.
I'm just glad I was able to offer something, as I've told you how dear this charity is to my heart.

Well, the party is over, the final tally is in. Our goal was to beat last year's $1400. And thanks to the generosity of our players, those that showed up to bid on the auction, and in a large part, to the generosity of those members of the online community that donated goods to the auction, our final tally is..........

$2000!!!

Once again, my thanks to each and every one of you that sent donations.
