More Moderators/total posts issue all over again - LOL

Okay - I get the idea that the two formus have been mixed, although I have a problem with all those posts coming from another place and now they are all mixed up with Bartertown traders, but now I am seeing all these "moderators" chilling out here on the trading side. What gives?

While I dislike the total post thing (okay, okay, I am just pissy because I am on the second page) I hope these "moderators" are actually only able to do moderator duties on the discussion/wherever they came from side. I will be highly disappointed if they start moving posts, commenting from a Bartertown trading perspective or zapping posts and putting people on warning or even banning.

Its bad enough that insidius was made a moderator  , but now we have whiteraven, supernid4000 (yes I know it isn't exactly right, but...), etc. There are problems in River City -

Can someone in charge (whoever that is :?: ) make a comment here?

Honestly, Ek... I don't understand what the problem is.
I mean, you said it yourself. Two forums were joined. The people from the other forum are due the respect HERE that they had on their old boards. I mean, if BTown merged with a bigger site & WE were on the other side (that Morlock's old site is on), you would want to have an equivalent amount of... (honor? prestige? Acknowledgement?) THERE as you have HERE, wouldn't you?

As far as the New mods are concerned... I welcome their input, etc. If they move posts that shouldn't be moved, a previously existing Mod would fix it... not that it should be an issue.
As far as commenting on trades and trade perspective... Why not? I mean, they have as much right to share their perspective as we do. Right?

And I don't think you have to worry about people being put on warning or banned by them. As I recall, that is a power reserved for the Trademaster and Lin.

Why are there new mods? Well, their Mod status there simply rolled over, I'd quess. Like you, some people found it wierd how fast 'Sid went from relative new kid on the block to Mod. My guess is that it has something to do with his technical knowledge, how well he handled the Jason Ticknor thing, and his overall personality (which is USUALLY nive  ). Where the other mods are conerned, I'm sure they earned their stripes, as well.

Not that I am someone in charge (as requested). I just felt like dropping a couple pennies here.

Nive? That's a new one... ;-)

Now then. Speaking as one of the People In Charge(tm) here's how things work...

40k Mods are 40K mods. Btown mods are Btown mods. Adam and I are admins there and here. MB is Admin over there, and mod here. That's the extent of the crossover, though the database may have different people listed as moderators.

Well, except for Deputy Pants. No one ever really knows what he's up to. :-)

We are very glad to have the 40k.com people as part of the nascent Bartertown World Domination Society. :-)
(yes, our eventual goal is to render the current debate between the EU, UN and USA regarding control of Internet standards irrelevant by TAKING IT ALL OVER.  )

i am taking it that you dont like Insidius recieving mod status, oh well thems the breaks, it might have been tech knowlege but if i rem right, he also nailed some pains in the asses that couldnt be bothered with rules.
concerning the ads posting in particular.

someone bitched because he wasnt a mod and he offered his service as one. i dont rem much from there.

some people dont like someone being opinionated. (IIRC another reason someone bitched) but the person that cant handle it has the problem.

Actually - I was just joking about 'sid. He has done an excellent job. It was more about that he hasn't been here long. I love his sense of humor and I think he does take care of issues.

Truthfully, I have been joking about the post thing since those other people appeared, because I was working my butt off to get into the top 25. I have been participating actively in discussions and adding my opinion on things. I love Bartertown and visit mutiple times daily. When those new people arrives, it dropped me back on to the second page. I can't keep up with the discussion side because I am already on like 10 message lists that keep me busy.

I really don't care all that much. I was disappointed to drop off the front page since I have been trying to get up in the total post department. But, I am glad to have new people involved and more mods, I know that clears up lots of time for the other mods to have a real life. :D
