Public Call for Grievances vs. Bit Kingdom

Good evening all.

I'm sorry to have to do this, but I'd like anyone who has had a negative experience with Nate Slater and/or Bit Kingdom in the past year to please PM me the details. Should the circumstances warrant, a Hall of Shame posting will be made. Bit Kingdom's advertising has already been canceled.

As an example of "negative experience," I'll use my own: I paid for some terrain on 18 March 2010 but did not receive it for over nine weeks. The communication was non-existent and the "I'm sorry it took me 9 weeks and your order was still wrong" package *still* has not arrived.

I realize this might be more appropriate for the Bad Trader forum, but the post is not a specific Bad Trader Report.

Thanks!

@Lin: You should know not to let things go past a few weeks without filing a dispute via PayPal or pushing a chargeback your Credit Card company.

Like I'd suggest to everybody else, put up your BTR and force the seller to comply. Then, Neg him for poor service, because the seller jerked you around with excuses and excessive delay.

No more OT, please.
This thread is STRICTLY for the airing of grievances. No advice on handling issues or reprimands for not doing things should be posted here.
This is not a thread for BTR's. This is a thread to share your poor experiences with Bit Kingdom.

This is just about the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen here, and I'm completely shocked to see it come from you. BT rules and process simply don't allow people to publicly pillory somebody in this way. It's flat out *wrong*.

Not that I approve of Nate or Bit Kingdom in any way. If you go over to Dakka, you'll see that in spades.

If people have a problem with another member on site, tied to what they agreed to do, and failed to deliver against, then let's post the BTRs and follow the established process.

Let's not break the rules to hang the guy out to dry in open forum.

I am hugely unhappy about the way this is going, even moreso because it appears like I'm defending a scumbag who isn't worth the crap I scrape off my shoes. But c'mon, Eric, can't we do this the right way?

John, this IS the right way.
It's the right way because this is the way Lin wants to do it.

You don't know the whole story here. Please, keep that in mind before going on about this any more.
It's a public call for grievances. Discussion of it in ANY other fashion is threadjacking.

If you have a problem with the way this is done, PM Lin. It's his thing to handle from start to finish. Don't post it in here, though. As I said... threadjacking.

I will clarify on several fronts, as there seem to be misunderstandings writ large.

My (heavily edited) experience with Bit Kingdom was used as an example, which I stated clearly in the initial message. I know there are a number of BT members who have had a similar experience, but I do not know some/all of their names. Hence, a public call for grievances to be sent IN PRIVATE as this is an administrative action versus a personal dispute (I did get the stuff I paid for, but have not gotten the extras Nate promised in apology. I am out no money from this transaction).
Do please note that I specifically did not call for a public pile-on but instead private messages. I remember the firestorm from the whole Drop Zone incident and decided to handle it another way. Maybe it wasn't the best way, but time will tell.

For the record, just because I decide to handle something in a certain way does not automatically mean it is the "right" way. One of my cornerstone tenets is administrative transparency; I'll explain my rationale to anyone who wants to know. See above for the rationale.^

I'll discuss this via private message if anyone is so inclined.

Now back to the thread already in progress. ;-)

Are you interested in ANY poor dealings with the vendor or just dealings that were initiated via Bartertown? Mine were done off site.
