bartertown rankings

Just out of curiosity. How are rankings determined. Is it how long you have been a member, how many posts, good refs vs. bad, or something more arbritrary.

If you're referring to the rank under your name, then it's post count based.
The more posts, the higher the rank.

If you are referring to the number next to your User ID, then it's reference based.
Positive refs are +2
Neutral refs are +1
Negative refs are -10

Also, while we're discussing it...
Red and green User ID's are staff.
(In order of rank, highest to lowest)
Red = Admin
Dark Green = Moderator
Light/Bright Green = Watchman

Bold Blue User ID's are paying advertisers. They are what helps keep bartertown free for everyone to use.
