hey everyone
just looking for some thoughts.
i just played a bunch of 8th edition games and what are your thoughts on using cavalry units now since the charging player doesnt auto go first?
my goblin wolf rider army pretty much went down the toliet in that aspect but just wanted to gather some thoughts

yeah, I find myself bringing spider riders over wolf riders as the spiders are I4.

yeah i just started turning to the spiders
nothing like having 45 goblin wolf riders and now dont know what to do with them considering regular ground troops can kick the crap out of them on a charge now

Most CAV units are relegated to the supporting charge position now. Use your wolf riders as flank chargers and eliminate the rank bonus of your enemies' horde use them in a few ranks. Remember it is only the first ranks' models that you need over half of in the enemies' flank to get the flank charge. Spider riders are a better choice for that too though. Int 4 is quite good now.

I agrre with norseman, Charge flanks with your cav, unless there cheap don't count on dirupting ranks as you need 1 rank oyurself to do this, besides the unit will still be stubborn if they have more ranks, doesn't matter if they are disrupted. I use my cold one on flank charges and they work great!

i was bored in one game and charged in with a block of 30 wolf riders just to see how they would work and stuck around for awhile thats for sure but my opinion is deffinatly goes along the lines of flankers only now and great for taking out war machines.
