ANyone know a good idea for them? I'd like to get a squad but beyond the overpriced model I see on ebay and GW, it leaves a lot to be desired....

You mean good ideas for modeling them?
Thre are a couple European sites that make (obviously) unofficial Ork bits. Everything from pirate heads and torsos to Meganob bits.
Maxmini.eu and MIcroartstudios.com come to mind immediately.

I made my Flash Gitz mainly out of AOBR nob bodies, IG heavy weapons (heavy bolters, autocannons), and bitz from my box. I am only mediocre with green stuff, but I think they turned out quite well.

I failboat at making them work in thread, flickr changed something and I cant remember how to do it now. I should add that I used some shootaboy bits, big shoota arms, and some of the FGs are made from boyz box nobz torsos.
